🍂🌻 HAPPY SEPTEMBER! 🌻🍂
We are officially in the ‘BER months… and somehow that makes everything feel a little more magical around the farm. 🤎
And just in time for September… THE SUNFLOWERS ARE READY TO BE PICKED! 🌻✨
These beauties are nearly 5 feet tall and would not only make the sweetest addition to your bouquet, but such a beautiful backdrop for a few photos while you’re here. 📸🌻
These were tough flowers to start. Rabbits/voles/mice love sunflower seeds. 😭 I think I seeded this field over five times even with the net coverings. Next year, these seeds will be started inside.
I already have several groups scheduled to come out this week, but I still have appointments available! The response to our flower picking has been absolutely incredible, and these flowers are going quickly.
There is still so much life left at the farm before our first season comes to an end, and I’d love to have you out to experience it. 🤍

🤎 Enjoy a little time at the farm
Message me to grab a flower-picking appointment before these sunflowers are gone! 🌻
Happy September, friends. Here’s to the beginning of the coziest months of the year. 🍂🤎

🌸 Calling my local West Virginians! 🌸
We’re officially opening up a limited number of appointments for our very first cut flower experience at Sweethaven Haynie Farm! 💐
This is our first growing season & we originally treated this year as a trial-and-learning year while we figured out what grows best on our property. But our flowers have surprised us in the best way — we have enough beautiful blooms to start welcoming a few people out to experience the field for themselves!
Right now, our gladiolus are ready to be picked, with more zinnias coming along and sunflowers still to come! 🌻
Because this is our first year, we’re keeping things small, personal & appointment-only with very limited availability.
If you’re local to West Virginia & would be interested in coming out to walk the flower field, hand-pick your own blooms & take home a bouquet you gathered yourself, send me a message! 🩷
I’d love to see how much interest there is as we begin opening our little flower farm to the community.

A small win with BIG opportunities ahead. 🌾🇺🇸
Caleb & I were officially accepted into the Farmer Veteran Coalition!
This opens the door to the Homegrown by Heroes label, grants, conferences, networking, education, mentorship, and tons of resources to help us continue growing Sweethaven Haynie Farm.
We’re still in the beginning stages of establishing this land and building the vision we have for it, so opportunities like this mean more than I can explain.
Two veterans, a piece of West Virginia land, a whole lot of dreams, and one more step forward. 🌾🤍

Happy Friday, friends!! ✨
So many exciting things are happening around here lately 🤍
This week we had our upper cabinets and cabinet doors installed. Caleb also finished the beautiful pillars for the kitchen island. It’s finally starting to feel like our dream kitchen is coming together 🥹
I think what I’m most excited about though are the copper hardware pieces, handles, and sink faucet still waiting to be installed. I absolutely love the vintage warmth they add against the clean white ✨
I’ve also been adding lots of new products to our Etsy shop, and orders have been coming in which has been such a blessing lately 🤍
Last night, I sanded the pantry & will be painting this weekend. Caleb has a super cool design for the pantry that I am stoked for.
We also have a big wood pickup planned this coming week for a project we’ve been so excited to start — we’ve just been waiting for a break in all this rain 🌧️
And finally… garden season is HERE 🌱
My seedlings are ready, the weather finally seems warm enough to stay, and everything is going into the ground this week. I can’t wait to watch our cut flower garden and veggie garden come to life 🌻🥕✨

Happy Saturday, friends!!!
Caleb & I have been burning the midnight oil lately trying to bring this kitchen to life…the heart of our home finally come together which has been such an exciting feeling for us. The girls have definitely been enjoying the cabinets just as much as we have. 🤍
Monday we have the laser measurements scheduled for the countertops we picked out, so things are really starting to move quickly now. We ended up falling back in love with white quartz — soft, subtle veining and all.
Today was also our very first day of hardening off the garden and flower seedlings! I’ve been so hesitant to plant with these cooler temperatures still hanging around but we are moving quickly with the fields now that the temperatures seem to be more stable now.
We also finally said goodbye to our 28-year-old water heater 🤯 — thankfully it gave us a slow leak instead of flooding the whole house. Between a brand new water heater, the kitchen coming together, and two fields being established, there’s a whole lot happening around here lately. 💪🏼

The evenings are still chilly, the seedlings still aren’t quite ready, and the days feel long sometimes… but the prettiest things take time. 🌱
Slow roots still grow deep.
And one day, all this waiting will bloom beautifully.
