I have an affinity for old fans. There are many around the shop and the home that perform various duties.

This one was long overdue for a clean and l**e. New grease in the gearbox and some fresh non-detergent sae-20 in the wicks and bearings.

The wd40 was used for cleanup only.

Got this 1960s General Electric T-150a AM/FM vacuum tube table radio up and running for its owner.

Customer wanted it to work well, but didn't want to replace the quirky power switch or the cracked backface behind the dial.

With a good antenna of 3 feet or more, it picks up all the local and some dx. The performance is on par with design.

The most amazing thing about it? Its a 60s GE product without silver mica disease!

we brought back this early 1960s zenith tabletop from the dead. Faulty circuit breaker, corrosion on tube sockets, bad tubes, dirty tuner, bad tuner tubes, and modifying the vertical output circuit to work well enough to fill the screen.

its getting ready for its long trip back to the west coast, where it will be used as a display to watch old movies on.

Here's an odd one you don't see. 1980s Samsung ss-3500 receiver. Bench tested at about 40 watts. excellent FM sensitivity and selectivity. Discrete output and heavy!

This one was badly in need of some love. A lot of missing k***s, some resoldering, a protection relay and a tuner alignment.

A small 14 pin ic does everything for the amp. No adjustments. Definitely unique.

This Sony TC-260 had just about everything wrong with it. frozen up mechanism, bad idlers, defective, hard to obtain germanium transistors and loads of bad electrolytic capacitors. It fought me at every turn.
I was able to get it working well and sent it back to its owner - the daughter of the man who recorded tapes on it for his family in 1968, 6 months before his death while the family was stationed in Germany, as he was in the Army.

I recently got this message from her:

"Hi Jordan. Got the reel last night and was able to play the tapes my dad made back in 1968 about 6 months before he died while we were stationed in Germany. It brought back so many memories from my childhood. I can't thank you enough for making the tape player run. Even if it doesn't run for very long it was so worth it."

The second photo is of her Father recording tapes on this very machine.

We serviced this minty Yamaha cr-2020 that had a major power supply failure. Rebuilt regulator, protection circuit and much needed maintenance.

These are really stellar performers. .05% thd at rated output!
