Dean here! It’s been awhile since I last posted. A lot of things have gone down since then. But I finally have gotten around to posting some pics of some work I’ve done. What I have here is a 1-1/2” x 11-3/4” x 16-3/8” Walnut/Maple endgrain cutting board. It has finger grips and rubber feet.

Just finished up this little bad boy. 9-1/4” x 11-1/2”, this guy is replacing one of the first boards I ever made for my kitchen almost 3 years ago. A major upgrade. First board was a face grain board 3/4” thick. This one is end-grain, 1-1/2 thick and has rubber feet. There are some more already set to go that I will be finishing within the next week to get some inventory ready for a Spring Time Farmer’s Market Show.

Another board ready to be trimmed to its final dimensions. This one has 4 species in it. It’s has Maple, Padauk, Cherry and Walnut. And so the inventory grows...

Before & “after”...sprayed the board down to see what it will look like oiled...just putting together patterns to see what they come out like...also building inventory for when Spring arrives so we can do our first craft show.

2nd end grain board is a mild success. Made from Walnut and Sipo Mahogany, I decided to make it as a test board before I dive head first into making these boards...other than a small issue when I routed the edges, this would be a sellable board. So I’m happy with the end result. Bathed in mineral oil and sealed with Damien butter, it should be the talk of my social gatherings for time to come 😁😁😁 @ Spring, Texas

So my first attempt at an end grain cutting board resulted in this...Walnut & Cherry checkerboard. I added finger grips and rubber feet to this board as well. I’m quite pleased with how it came out and with great pleasure I announce that there WILL be MORE to come...
