Behind the Boards
A lot of people ask who’s actually stitching the bags and building the boards at Sling Shot Co****le.
The short answer? I’m just like anyone else who loves a weekend in the yard. I still work a full-time job during the day, balance family life, and spend my free time out in the shop or standing at 27 feet.
We’ve been building co****le boards for over 11 years and sewing bags for more than 6. In the early days, it was a constant learning curve—figuring out which fabrics actually held up, how different materials slid on raw vs. finished wood, and chasing down consistent resin. If you've ever bought a batch of fill only for the next order to feel completely different, you know the frustration. Finding a supplier with rock-solid consistency took time, but it changed everything for our bag quality.
We spent five years as an approved ACL bag maker, and while that was a great chapter, we recently decided to step back and return to why we started this journey in the first place.
At the end of the day, co****le was built on simple things: meat sizzling on the grill, a cold drink in a koozie, good music, and friendly rivalry in the backyard. That’s the soul of the game.
Right now, I’ve got an airmail box pulled out in the yard, testing a fresh set of bags to see how the break-in feels and how the resin seats. Every design, fabric combo, and stitch choice comes directly from years of hands-on trial and error—built by someone who loves the game just as much as you do.
Thanks for being part of the ride and supporting what we do.
