Tomb is going to Gettysburg! Next weekend, Tomb starts a week long project with Applied Archaeology and History Associates to relocate foundations associated with General Lee's headquarters as well as locate other Civil War artifacts associated with the site. Needless to say, Tomb is very excited to rediscover American history!

Tomb will be working with the DC Historic Preservation Office and a talented team of archaeologists to find the remains of Mr. Yarrow Mamout in Georgetown. If you have experience excavating or would like to help screen, DC HPO could use your help. They also offer daily fence talks at 10:15am and 1:45pm. Stayed tuned for Tomb's GPR findings!

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (a.k.a. drones) photography is a great resource for search and rescue/recovery operations. UAV's assists SAR teams to identify suspects, human remains, or other features associated with missing and/or endangered persons. UAV's now come equipped with thermal imaging cameras for identifying heat signatures and GPS to track areas searched and identify data gaps. It can be overwhelming when having to search a large area, but UAV's enable law enforcement to narrow down search areas, and more efficiently and effectively respond to such urgent, unfortunate events.

Tomb presented and demonstrated the capabilities of Ground Penetrating Radar at Woodlawn Cemetery in Washington, DC on Memorial Day. Woodlawn Cemetery (22.5 acres) is undergoing a massive clean-up effort of which volunteers are needed. If interested in helping to restore this historic cemetery, please contact Tomb for additional details!
This week, Tomb embarks on a new adventure with cadaver dogs. These talented creatures will be used for an ongoing forensic investigation of which Tomb has been part of for over 4 years. Wish us luck for a successful week!
