OPEN CALL - THE CHRISTMAS WINDOW 2026

Calling all artists, designers, makers and creative thinkers!

This Christmas, Harry C.J. Wix is inviting creatives to reimagine our shop window in the heart of Woodbridge, Suffolk.

We’re looking for an imaginative, original installation that brings something unexpected to the festive season whether sculptural, playful, architectural, or an exploration of materials, light and form.

Think bold ideas, beautiful craftsmanship and a fresh perspective on Christmas. See carousel images for inspo!

We have a small budget available for the selected proposal but see this as an exciting opportunity for an emerging or established creative to showcase their work, develop their portfolio and gain exposure to a new audience within Woodbridge’s growing design and creative community, we promise we will share far and wide for our winner!

With a relatively short lead time, we’re keeping the brief open and the application process simple. We’re interested in your ideas, imagination and what you could bring to the space.

We hope this will be the beginning of an annual Christmas window collaboration, celebrating creativity and bringing something special to Woodbridge each festive season.

Installation anticipated in late November.

COMING TO HARRY’S | 19–20 NOVEMBER
We’re delighted to announce that Lavenham will be joining us at Harry C.J. Wix for a special two-day pop-up this November.
Founded in Suffolk in 1969, Lavenham has over 50 years of expertise in quilted outerwear. Every piece is still made in their Suffolk factory, just six miles from the village of Lavenham, where the story began.
Combining British craftsmanship and heritage with a distinctly contemporary approach to design, Lavenham has collaborated with some of the most exciting names in fashion, including YMC and BEAMS, bringing a fresh perspective to its iconic quilted designs.
We’re thrilled to welcome this brilliant Suffolk brand to Woodbridge for two days, bringing a curated selection of outerwear and clothing for men and women to Harry’s.

For those who are new to the Woodbridge design store, Harry C. J. Wix, we thought it was time to properly introduce the person behind it.

Carolyn Larkin has spent more than 30 years working with key names in architecture, design and culture, as founder of , and this September has been no exception.

For , Carolyn and her team have worked with Studio Saar and Atelier One on their project, The Pangolin Shield, an installation on the Strand, which explores colonial legacies, power, ecological exploitation, and the movement of people and beings across borders.

At Harry C. J. Wix, Carolyn brings that experience, network and curiosity back to Suffolk. She has created a hub in Woodbridge where contemporary design, art, and architecture come together, connecting communities to share their ideas with new audiences.

Over the past few months, we’ve welcomed artist through our doors and begun a programme of talks and gatherings at , including and . NEXT THURSDAY AT NEW STREET MARKET

Join us on Thursday 24 September, 6–7.30pm, for an evening exploring the life, work and enduring influence of Alvar Aalto, one of Finland’s most celebrated architects and designers.

Led by Ian Macready, the talk will look at Aalto’s distinctive approach to architecture, furniture and interiors from his pioneering use of bent plywood and natural materials to the wonderfully human, organic modernism that made his work so influential.

A chance to discover more about the thinking behind some of the 20th century’s most recognisable pieces of design, in the intimate surroundings of New Street Market.
