Natural character, made for your bathroom.

A solid-wood vanity brings warmth and texture to a space you use every day. The live edge and grain give each piece its own character, while an open shelf keeps towels and baskets within easy reach.

At JJ’s Bones of the Earth, we can design your vanity around your basin, plumbing and available space, with proportions and storage that work for you.

Planning a bathroom update? Send us your ideas, photographs and approximate measurements, and let’s discuss your custom piece.

Our furniture starts with naturally dead timber.
Cut into slabs, revealing the grain and character within.
Then comes the careful preparation—shaping and sanding for its next purpose.

Take a closer look at how it comes together.

These finger joints connect the top and sides through a series of interlocking wooden sections. Each one needs careful cutting and fitting, creating a strong connection while making the joinery part of the design.

The contrasting grain highlights the detail—something worth noticing when you look closely at a handcrafted piece.

From planning each joint to sanding it smooth, these steps take time, skill and care.

Every custom piece starts with an idea—and a little time at the drawing board. ✏️

Before we begin building, we consider how the piece will look, how it will work in your space, and how to bring out the character of the timber.

Sometimes that means sitting down with the slab itself, sketching out possibilities and working through the details. Its natural edges, grain and imperfections all help shape the design.

Have something in mind for your home or business? Send us your ideas, photographs and approximate measurements, and let’s discuss what we can create for you.

Every table has a story long before it reaches your home.

At JJ’s Bones of the Earth, we don’t start with ready-made planks. We start with a stump or log.

From cutting the log into workable timber to planing, shaping, sanding, assembling and applying the final finish, every step takes time, care and attention to detail. Working with solid wood means working with its natural character and allowing time for each stage to be completed properly, including drying time for glues and finishes.

The finished table is only part of the story. These photos show the work behind it—from stump to handcrafted furniture. It’s a process that can take several weeks, depending on the timber and the piece we’re making.
