We may be called “expats”, but moments like this remind us that we love the UAE just as deeply.
I chose to come here because it was a place where my child could play outside safely. A place where I could walk at night without fear. That kind of security is rare in today’s world.
For 30 years I have worked hard to build a life and a business here, always with integrity. Like many foreigners, I have faced discrimination at times, but that is part of living in a country that is not your own.
What matters is this: we love this country.
Situations like this remind us how much.
Our loyalty may even surprise some Emiratis, but the truth is simple — when it matters, we stand together.
I feel no fear. I trust in the strength and wisdom of the UAE’s leaders to protect us.
As a soldier’s daughter, if this country ever needed defending, I would step forward without hesitation.
For now, my loyalty means standing against rumours, refusing to spread fear, running my business with honesty, helping abandoned pets, and supporting the community around me.
We are all in this together.
