Alright folks, I can see by your lack of response that you cannot relate to this. Is it because it's too big? It's what we're up against and much more. But I am determined to keep up hope and I want to make a few suggestions as to how to tackle it and I want to ask for your participation.
The thing is huge, but it happened in the last 100 years and it's been done by humans and it can be undone by humans.
I want to paint a picture for you of how it could be different but I need to be inspired by a little interest...
One technology we don't want to miss is communication. It is the technology which should enable us to dispense with the circulation of vehicles pumping exhaust fumes into the air. We don't have to go somewhere to be heard, to share our ideas, to submit work, we can do it from wherever we are. The frenzy to move from one place to another which has befallen mankind like a disease should be acknowledged, may be identified as an intrinsic need and be dealt with accordingly.
We may reorganize the world into a maze of pathways, shaded by trees where those who wish to respond to nomadic instincts can move at leisure. Bicycles and horses should vbe the only means of transport. Technology may be put to use in designing superlight mobile homes, so light that even a person may move it effortlessly. Everyone using the pathways will be required to contribute towards its maintenance and its aesthetic aspects...
