Reclaimed Messmate, right at home.

A set of handmade floating shelves now installed in this beautiful bungalow, currently being transformed into a seaside retreat.

Designed to add plenty of new storage without overwhelming the space, while the reclaimed Messmate brings warmth, texture and a little history of its own.

Made to fit the space. Made to last.

For those thoughtful enough.

A little library with a beautiful twist.

This custom Messmate little library was designed as part of our Little Nursery Collection, with one special addition — a built-in seat so our client can sit, read, and share those precious moments with their little one.

Finished with a stunning vinyl cushion, this piece adds not only comfort but another layer of personality and story to the space.

Because furniture for children should be more than functional. It should create memories, encourage imagination, and become part of the moments that matter.

I’ve had this customer for a while now.

She’s kept me pretty busy, she’s always got plenty of feedback, and while it’s not always what I want to hear… it’s usually pretty honest.

And honestly, that’s the kind of customer you appreciate.

She keeps me accountable, she pushes me to do better, and she’s probably my toughest critic.

Anyway… here’s the latest repair request that came across my bench.

A set of princess dolls that apparently need some “urgent” restoration work.

The customer? Lilah.

The standards are high, the feedback is immediate, and I’m pretty sure payment is going to be in the form of cuddles and a “good job Dadda”.

Finishing off the part the router can’t reach.

Corners like these are cleaned up by hand with a sharp chisel, but there’s a little more to it than simply chopping away the waste.

Before removing material, I’ll sever the fibres where the chamfer intersects the perpendicular edge. That cut creates a stopping point, so when I come back from the other direction the waste breaks away cleanly at the severed fibres rather than continuing past the join and tearing out.

It’s a small detail that takes only a few seconds, but it’s the difference between a crisp, clean chamfer and one that needs repairing.

The finer details are usually where the craftsmanship lives.

I don’t copy other makers’ designs.

Every piece I create is bespoke—designed from scratch to suit your space, your needs, and my design philosophy.

If there’s a designer or maker whose work you admire, the best thing you can do is support them and have them build it for you.

When you come to me, bring your inspiration, your ideas, and the pieces that resonate with you. From there, we’ll create something original that captures what you love while becoming a piece that is uniquely yours.

That’s the beauty of custom furniture, no copies, no shortcuts. Just thoughtful design and craftsmanship made specifically for you.
