Hokkaido style Bird feeder
Made with reclaimed woods, and finished with Yakisugi technique. This involves charring the woods surface, to draw out its moisture and oils, which rise up and form a protective layer on the outside of the wood. This also produces an amazing sheen and colour variation, from black to deep gold.
It is then sealed with a black citrus based wax, as it is for outdoor use.

Put together this small folding stool over a few days, just as a fun project. Very impressed by the micro plane. It handled the Cypress Pine very well, even on difficult edges.
