Marble in the wild.

Sitting beneath the afternoon sun in Carrara, this solid marble bench stays comfortably cool to the touch.

That's no accident. Light-coloured marble reflects much of the sun's heat rather than soaking it up, and its density gives it a high thermal mass. Instead of heating quickly, it absorbs warmth gradually and releases it slowly as the air cools into the evening.

It's one of the reasons light natural stone works so well outdoors: in landscaping, around the pool, on terraces and in any space where liveability and design need to work together. Under a Queensland summer sun, that matters.

Natural stone doesn't just look beautiful in a space. It performs beautifully within it.

Come and have a chat with our team about the best stone and finish for your project.

Travertine, at its source.

In the hills east of Rome, mineral-rich water from ancient hot springs has been leaving behind thin layers of calcium carbonate for thousands of years. As the water cooled and released its gases, the stone set around tiny pockets and channels. Those are the open pores and soft, linear veining that make travertine instantly recognisable.

Each layer is a record of the landscape that shaped it.

Roman Travertine, quarried in Tivoli, Italy. It's the same stone the Romans called lapis tiburtinus, used to build the Colosseum and, centuries later, Bernini's colonnade at St Peter's.

We import it directly from the quarry, so architects, designers and builders can specify it knowing exactly where it comes from.

Available in slabs, tiles and cladding. Visit our Brisbane showroom to see it in person.

Red Velvet Quartzite.

Deep burgundy and red w**e tones pour through the slab, softened by dusty pinks and cut through with bold white veining. It's rich, moody and impossible to walk past.

It has the presence of a statement marble, but this is quartzite: formed under intense heat and pressure, it's known for its hardness and durability. That makes it a stone you can actually live with, as well as look at.

Use it where you want a room to start a conversation: a waterfall island, a powder room vanity, a bar back or a full-height feature wall. Pair it with brushed brass, dark timber or soft plaster and let the stone lead.

All the drama, with a little extra muscle.

Come and see the full slabs in our Brisbane showroom. With a stone like this, every slab tells a different story.

Vein cut or cross cut? It all comes down to the direction the stone is cut.

Shown here on a Traonyx mini block. Slicing against the natural vein creates a linear, directional pattern. Turn the block 90 degrees and a cross cut reveals softer, more organic movement.

Same stone, completely different expression, and each suited to its own design application.

Choose vein cut to emphasise the direction of the veining and draw the eye through a space. Choose cross cut for a softer, non-directional look that lets the stone's natural movement take the lead.

Macchia Vecchia. A statement Brazillian stone made to be seen, and touched, in person.

A creamy ivory base with deep olive-green veining, warm gold tones and rich, earthy detail throughout. The leathered finish adds another layer of texture to an already distinctive dolomitic marble.

See it for yourself in our Brisbane showroom.

Stone that feels almost weightless.

Day two at Marmomac, and a closer look at how stone can be engineered with ultra-thin edges, curved detailing and considered fabrication to create strength without the bulk. The tapering of the stone, the notches in the table legs and the subtle curves all elevate the design.

A beautiful example of how thoughtful design can completely change the way we see and use stone.

One stone, many expressions.

Our elegant Cherry Blossom marble is revisited and is explored beyond the slab. Shaped into kitchen benchtops, rectilinear fluting and tiles, each application revealing a different side of its colour and movement.

A closer look at what thoughtful fabrication can bring out in natural stone. All possible with Stone & Tile Studio, we'd love to work with you to bring your design vision to life.

Before the slab, there’s the block.

A closer look at natural stone in its rawest form at Marmomac 2026 in Verona during Day One. Large blocks, each revealing the colour, movement and character that will later be cut into individual slabs.

A reminder that every finished surface begins here and the monolithic blocks are just as beautiful in its raw form.
