I often get asked why I enjoy my job so much, and the answer to that question is quite simple actually. People. Wonderfully interesting people. I meet such inspiring individuals, each with their own story to tell, and some who will forever leave a lasting impression. Just like Suzanne, a beautiful, charismatic & strong woman whom I have so much respect for, including that of her living father I came to learn about, World War II veteran, Mr Len McLeod.
Today Suzanne kindly gifted me with home grown flowers, sweet treats & this significant inspirational book. Sons of War illustrates Len McLeod's story, his own personal recount of his time serving as a young Australian soldier. Suzanne shared some heartfelt stories of her father, including that of her own life whilst visiting our warehouse & gracing us with her presence - It's people like Suzanne that ground me and remind me exactly why I LOVE what I do.
Hopefully one day I get the honour of meeting Mr Len McLeod, one of our true Australian heroes. But until then, THANK YOU for your service. And thank you Suzanne, I will always call you a friend.
