🙌Some Things Are Too Good To Leave Behind. 🐑

Farms get sold, families move on, and old shearing sheds eventually go abandoned.

To heck with that though!

I like to think, in a small way, what I do is pushing back against a little piece of rural Australian history disappearing.

Just because these old wool tables have finished their working life doesn’t mean their story has to end.

With a bit of care (and by that I mean a lot!) and a new purpose, these tables can go on being part of Australian family life for generations to come.

⏳ 12 Months Is A Long Time To Wait For A Dining Table 🐑

That’s where my waiting list has roughly stood for the past few years.

Every wool table I transform takes a fair bit of time, and being a one-man workshop, there are only so many I can get through.

I’m incredibly grateful to the people who are happy to wait their turn, particularly those who’ve entrusted me with a table that’s been in their family for generations.

I certainly don’t take that for granted!

🐑 Not A Bad Retirement For An Old Wool Classing Table ☀️🌊

Once a working piece of equipment in a shearing shed in Central Queensland, then to my shop in Cecil Plains for a transformation, and now enjoying an ocean view in Noosa.🏖️

What a story this one already has, with plenty more on its way as generations gather around it in the years to come.

🌾 How Does A Farm Workshop End Up Sending Tables To Sydney? 🌆

It turns out when you stick to doing one thing, distance becomes less important.

This one will end up making the trip from rural Queensland to the Harbour City.

Purists won’t all agree with this change… 👍

⏳Old But New♻️

Old table transformed into a new heirloom.
Old shed becoming my new workshop.
Old timber behind me about to become new tables.

It’s been a continuing theme around here.

And despite my best efforts, I’m getting older too, although I reckon there’s a new chapter going on as well…. I’ve upped my content a bit with doing reels this year.

How’s it been landing with you all?
