The exhibition is a vibrant deluge of form and colour! I am so happy to have visited the museum at a time to see this fabulous exhibition and was reminded of the true extend of his imaginative work.

As a graduate in architecture from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Verner Panton emerged from the legendary tradition of Danish furniture design and gained his first professional experience in the office of the renowned architect Arne Jacobsen. But he soon turned in a completely different artistic direction: from the late 1950s onwards, Panton developed radically new spatial concepts in which colour, textiles, and light played a central role. With swings and living towers, he used domestic space in playful and informal ways, while light, patterns and carefully applied colour scales helped him modulate the mood and character of his interiors.

The chronologically structured exhibition shows how systematically Verner Panton pursued his design
ideas. Already his early interiors of the 1950s were bold, colourful statements that broke out of Scandinavian design traditions.

The exhibits are embedded in a scenography that references Panton’s immersive spaces: a colourful ribbon runs through the entire Schaudepot, transporting visitors into a Panton-inspired world of chromatic colour scales.

All objects come from the Verner Panton Archive at the Vitra Design Museum which includes furniture, prototypes, experiments, models, as well as more than 40,000 documents, among them about 20,000 plans and drawings.

Drawing from this unique source, the exhibition presents works from all creative periods, thus offering a more differentiated view of the legendary designer oeuvre than before. For instance, Panton’s mostly unrealised architectural work is shown in detail for the first time, and the design process behind many of his projects is highlighted.

The exhibition was developed in close collaboration with the Verner Panton Design AG, holder of all rights in Verner Panton’s work.

The Role
We’re looking for an exceptional individual who brings genuine passion for original design to every client conversation. This is not a traditional retail role. You’ll work across both our retail and trade client base... guiding homeowners, architects, and interior designers through considered, often significant purchasing decisions, and contribute to the way top3 is experienced in-showroom.
A background in interior design is highly regarded. What matters most is that you understand the difference between a piece of furniture and a piece of design, and can communicate that distinction with warmth, knowledge, and conviction.

Role includes at least x1 weekend day. (A must)
Current proposed week is Sunday - Thursday (negotiable)

Freifrau - dressed in Gobelin Fabric 🖤

The term Gobelin was originally limited to fabrics made in the Manufacture des Gobelins in Paris, whose products had such intricate patterns and were woven with so much care that they were hung on walls as tapestries. Now, the Belgian company Meisterwerke has decided to revive this kind of material, bringing it up to date by including attention seeking details.

Working with Meisterwerke from Belgium and a tattoo artist from its home town of Lemgo in Germany, Freifrau has developed a new Gobelin fabric; a fantasy scene (with a few contemporary details) functions to balance the heaviness of the material, representing not only an exotic fairy-tale from the animal kingdom, but also an opulent oasis in which many animals coexist peacefully. There is a message here, and a philosophy shared by many.

The motif chosen to be woven into Gobelin started life as a study for an oil painting by Christian Trzaska, that was commissioned by Art-Director Birgit Hoffmann and graphics team Bertermann-Winters.

ALVA | celebrates the art of beautiful design. 
Discreet, sustainable and perfectly formed, this is how Hoffmann Kahleyss impresses us with their newest designs. A sleek and finely crafted wooden frame in oak or walnut and the softly upholstered cushions invite one to relax and unwind.

LIV | is beautifully calm, soft and refined. Made in Germany and designed by Hoffmann Kahleyss, Liv combines a solid oak frame with a thick, strong “sling” of leather that cradles the upholstered cushions to form the bedhead.

Practicality in motion. The Rul Trolley by Normann Copenhagen distils flexible storage and effortless mobility into one quietly considered design.

Created by Simon Legald, Rul takes its name from the Danish word for “roll” Smooth 360° wheels carry it effortlessly between rooms and uses: style it as a drinks trolley, bedside table, bathroom shelf, office companion or everyday storage solution. The understated design keeps the focus where it belongs… on what you put in it.

The frame is crafted from steel, its inherent strength allowing the proportions to stay lean and graphic without sacrificing structure. Both tray shelves are removable, adapting easily to changing needs, while the refined monochrome finish keeps the aesthetic clean and contemporary.
