James Foley's latest book (and his first nonfiction) is now available at Dunsborough Books, the mobile bookshop.

Thanks to Fremantle Press, I'm honoured to stock this book. I first met James some ten years ago when he came down south to do a workshop for our homeschooling group. The excitement and passion I saw in my boys after they did this workshop is something I will never forget and for which I will always be grateful. I know for a fact that James continues to inspire young minds because the first copy of Amazing Astro Animals I sold went to a boy who had just attended one of James's gigs.

James also helped me to get votes when I was trying to get a grant to start my mobile bookshop and I never forgot. Thank you so much, James, for your kindness, inspiration and amazing talent.

Buy it online at dunsboroughbooks.com.au or at the mobile bookshop around the South West. This weekend in Dunsborough (Saturday) and Busselton (Sunday). Or DM me any time to secure your copy.

This is the 15th anniversary edition of Lighthouse Girl – an Australian classic. It is now available at Dunsborough Books and selling fast.

At the outbreak of World War I, Fay lives alone with her father on bleak, windswept Breaksea Island. As war rages over the world, Fay’s life is about to dramatically change as she faces the reality of surviving the home front and the never-ending threat of invasion.

Based on the true story of Fay Howe, this gentle tale brings to life the hardships of those left at home during the war – waiting, wondering, hoping. Drawing on fascinating archival material, and interweaving fact with fiction, award-winning author Dianne Wolfer deftly recreates this period in Australian history from the perspective of a young girl.

And the illustrations by Brian Simmonds are stunning!

Philippa Nikulinsky's new book is now available at Dunsborough Books thanks to Fremantle Press. Find it in the mobile bookshop this Sunday at the Busselton Foreshore Markets or on my website: dunsboroughbooks.com.au

Philippa Nikulinsky, AM, is one of the most popular artists living in Western Australia and her work is highly prized by both critics and scientists, nationally. This book marks a 60-year legacy of her work.

Philippa Nikulinsky: For the Seeker Who Walks invites the reader to walk alongside the artist, from observation to the final artwork, and savour the beauty in the details of the world around them.

Accompanied by text from her husband, Alex, and her daughter-in-law, Angela, Philippa’s diary entries, artwork and behind-the-scenes stories offer insight into her creative process and her fascination with the arid landscape of the place she calls home.

I'm happy to announce that the second YA novel by Karen M. Cunningham, Happy Jack, is now available from Dunsborough Books. And look, I'm mentioned in the acknowledgements! Thank you back at you, Karen! 😘🙏🏽

Jacqueline ‘Jack’ Parker has always been good at keeping secrets, especially from herself. At sixteen, she’s determined to finally be happy – starting with getting Dan Patterson to notice her. When she’s put in charge of the school dance, it feels like the perfect opportunity to shine.

But Stacey Saunders, her former best friend, is back. And Stacey knows the one thing Jack has spent years trying to forget.

How can Jack move forward when the past won’t let her go?

Happy Jack is a raw portrayal of teenage friendships, the power of facing our fears, and the unexpected paths to healing and happiness.

Hey, parents of kids under 16 who are not watching this reel, tell your 3- to 6-year-olds that I've got the perfect gift for them to buy and give to Daddy. Just send them over to the mobile bookshop at Signal Park on Sunday. Or give them your phone and let them search for Dunsborough Books' website to buy it online (under local authors). If they need help navigating the site, just let them watch Boss Baby first. But hurry, I only have three copies left!

My super popular 'Blind Date with a Book' series is now a permanent fixture at Lentedal Wines and Wineries.

You know nobody does them like me. All those years of being heavily drilled for the perfect cursive at the Virtèlia school (now extinct) in the 70s and 80s are finally paying off! And volunteering for the Red Cross wrapping up Christmas presents (also many years ago) helped too. The rest is just being creative and obsessed about books. It's what I do. ☺️❤️📚

(My partner just opined that the bragging is a bit over the top. I disagree. I know what I'm good at and sometimes there is no room for modesty. But judge for yourself!)

Lentedal is open every day of the week. Wood fired pizzas, good wines, live music on weekends, friendly staff and animals, and great books. The perfect life!
