"Chaise Lounge" or "Chaise Longue"? Let's settle this debate once and for all.When our lovely client Mary politely (or was it cheekily?) pointed out we were pronouncing it wrong, we did some digging. Turns out, this fancy piece of furniture originated in 16th-century France, where it was called a chaise longue (literally "long chair"). Over time, us Aussies decided to zhuch it up and turned it into "chaise lounge." So Mary, you're not wrong-but neither are we! Tomato, tomato, right?Now, onto the real story. Mary and her husband brought back a beautiful chaise lounge from China years ago. It was time for a refresh, but they wanted us to leave the back as it's "not visible." Spoiler alert: we kindly explained that the back has to come off for a proper job. Trust us-cutting corners leads to wobbly results.After some in-home fabric browsing (yes, we bring the store to you), the stunning Zepel Limestone with neutral double piping was chosen. Classic, timeless, and just a bit boujee-perfect for a piece like this.The lounge was stripped, rewebbed, recovered, and transformed into a masterpiece worthy of Marge the dog's seal of approval.
