1973, Salamanca, by Tom Samek. As always, ahead of its time — and still very beautiful today.
The silverfish have had a tiny nibble, which honestly feels understandable because it’s pretty delicious-looking. We colour matched the frame to a deep rust red, then softened it with a custom curved-corner profile.
And there was never any question of float mounting — all of that history, wear and provenance deserved to be seen.

Have we shared these amazing photos of dad in his early years of framing yet? Mid-90s at Sidewalk Gallery, Salamanca, and the beginning of a long family love of the craft . Thank you Dad for sharing your passion with us and for raising us in such an enriching creative environment, together with mum (a natural creator also, in the form of Chef). We’re very proud to continue and grow our family story ❤️
