To My Beautiful Wife, Linda
Forty years of marriage and forty-five years of friendship — where has the time gone?
Linda has stood beside me through thick and thin, sharing the laughter, the tears, the adventures, our four wonderful children and, of course, the occasional argument! 😂
Our marriage motto has always been “Never let the sun go down on an argument.” We haven’t always managed it… sometimes the sun, moon and stars have all come out before we’ve sorted things out!
Together we’ve built a family, a life and Grange Antiques, with Linda being the true backbone of it all. I’m still trying to work out when she officially became the boss!
I love the meaning behind the three-strand rope — one strand can break easily, but three strands together are so much stronger. To me, that represents marriage, family and the strength we find in each other.
And in these past two weeks, after the heartbreaking loss of our beautiful 28-year-old son, that strength has never meant more. Through the darkest time of our lives, Linda has been right beside me, as she has been for the past forty-five years.
Linda, I am so proud to call you MY WIFE, my best friend and my partner in everything.
Thank you for forty wonderful years, for our family, for Grange Antiques, and for simply being you.
If I had my time again, I’d choose you all over again — although I might try listening to you a little sooner! 😂
