Esotismi by Cristina Celestino
An ongoing dialogue between order and disorder!

Misha’s first Signature collection of design wallcoverings. This collaboration with the designer is primarily rooted in reflections regarding the brand identity, its philosophy and values, as well as the unique potential it offers in terms of craft production. With its textile wall decorations, the collection provides a successful and original medium for contemporary design. The collection features exotic mushroom elements combined with exotic plants to create an ongoing dialogue between order and disorder. The collection highlights the embroidery potential of the Misha ranges.

Misha adds a poetic, expressive dimension to contemporary interiors
BRAND SPOTLIGHT: MISHA MILANO

Misha is an Italian company that specialises in creating exquisite hand-painted wallpapers. The name Misha represents a merger between the two cities, Milan and Shanghai. The company was founded in 2007 by two sisters who discovered a passion for hand painted silk while living in Shanghai. The artistic form dates back to 17th century China.
The careful selection of the artisans and the extreme quality of their work are the factors that set Misha apart. With its flexible structure and patient process of honing exclusive products to a very high level of quality, Misha is a haute couture atelier.

Materials
Misha applies the same level of artistic perfection to the base materials used in the creative process. There is an exacting focus applied to ensure the tactile qualities of different silks, the textures of metal leaf applied by hand, and the luminosity of powders brushed onto the surfaces all deliver on the creative promise. The colour range is updated each year to adapt to new trends. Wallpaper collections are made in Pure Silk, Dupion Silk or Double Silk and metallic wallcoverings, which trigger different effects for the design. The choice of the woven or metallic background is a key factor in the interior design and in the impact of the motifs of each wallcovering.
The metallic wallcoverings are an artisanal product in their own right using a range of different workmanship techniques: from metal leaf applied by hand, smooth or with a craquelé effect, to powders brushed on by hand and then coated with metallic varnishes. All base materials are available for supply in plain format as a standalone product or to complement hand painted panels.

Embroidery. All collections can be enhanced with the use of hand embroidery. The skilled hands of embroiderers add refined details to painted illustrations. The slight thickness of the embroidery and the luminous glow of slender silk threads with their endless nuances interact with the play of light, triggering three-dimensional effects in the design, which takes on a greater sense of depth and the hint of antique tapestries.

RANGE SPOTLIGHT: CHINA CLASSIC COLLECTION

Echoes of chinoiserie in contemporary wallpaper. The Chinese classic collection elevates oriental themes of large flowers, plants and animals, revives the splendour of imperial royal courts, alongside the refinement of European chinoiserie. With Misha you can explore an imaginary China with a refined taste for the exotic.

Hume is the only company licensed to sell these products across Australia and New Zealand.

Unparalleled Wallpaper Hand Painted Silk Elegance

BRAND SPOTLIGHT: MISHA MILANO

Misha is an Italian company that specialises in creating exquisite hand-painted wallpapers. The name Misha represents a merger between the two cities, Milan and Shanghai. The company was founded in 2007 by two sisters who discovered a passion for hand painted silk while living in Shanghai. The artistic form dates back to 17th century China.

The collections are designed in Italy and hand painted by Chinese artisans with many years of training and experience. The stunning designs retain age-old Asian themes, whilst synthesising both oriental and western historical references and imagery. The artistic quality of the products is what sets them apart: like frescos, wallcoverings become a form of expression that contribute to the design composition of interior spaces.

Through the refined aesthetic taste of Chinoiseries, the poetical influence of Japanese art, or the adventure conceived by the Grand Tour, the hand-painted collections reinterpret the age-old silk painting techniques in a contemporary way.

The precisely chosen range of solid colours, natural textures and metallic backgrounds transform decorative textile wallcoverings into a new material language. Like contemporary scenery, Misha creations bring the charm and elegance of a timeless design into your interiors.

The exclusive Misha hand-painted wallcoverings convey a unique interpretation of a distant culture. The painstaking in-house research, which combines design and fine craftsmanship, creates not only luxurious collections, but also a sophisticated and contemporary figurative language, raising painted fabric to the status of a work of art.
