Bernard Slawik.

Neither, here no longer.
Bernard (1904-1991) , A holocaust survivor, immigrated to Australia with his wife and Daughter in 1948.
I say “survivor”, but that word does not really encapsulate his experience of fleeing a concentration camp in Poland, hiding, buried in the snow for 3 days so the dogs could no longer track him and escaping the N***s.
The man is a survivor. But he is also a legend.
He was also a designer of homes. Spectacular mid-century marvels.
Sadly 1 Lansell Crt in Toorak has just been razed to the ground (Real-estate Listing in comments) - It sold for $4.625 million.
But we did manage to save these magnificent chandeliers chosen by the man himself, Bernard Slawik – Large multi-tiered crystal chandeliers by German designer Kinkeldey. $4750, 1 available.
