It is coming up to Lizzies birthday on the 21 November; this year it will be nine years without our beautiful daughter. Lizzie loved her Great grandmother's chocolate cake recipe. So please help celebrate Lizzies birthday on the 21st and make her favorite cake and enjoy it with a coffee in her memory
Lizzie’s Chocolate Cake
105 grams butter (4.5 Tablespoons)
3 Tablespoons cocoa. (For a darker richer cake add an extra Tablespoon of Coca)
1.5 cups SR flour
1.5 cups sugar
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
For a bigger cake double the mixture
Soften butter and place with the other ingredients into a mixing bowl.
Mix well for 3 to 4 minutes.
Pour into greased and lined 180mm (7 inch) cake tin.
Bake at 160 degrees C for approximately 70 minutes
Don’t forget to lick out the bowl and spoon the uncooked mix is the best bit.
This recipe has been passed down through the family from Lizzie’s Great Grandmother Coronation Spratling, it has been made by family members for around 100 years. At least five generations of family have enjoyed this cake.

I have been quiet on this page over the last few years, that is because my daughter died six years ago, and I haven't had the heart to go back to the workshop.
however, I have been busy writing some books the first is a coffee table book aimed at grieving fathers, simply because men do not grieve well, this book is designed to help them. It can be found here:

A lot of my Face Book community have unfortunately suffered the loss of a loved one, sadly often this is the loss of a child. At times like this, it is hard to articulate feelings and there is a desperate heartfelt need to want to record those feelings and memories.
So with this in mind and having walked down this devastating road, I have put together a journal to help those who find themselves walking this path that no one ever wants to, or imagined that they would walk.
This, small journal has inspirational quotes to help the grieving person collect their thoughts to help them. It also contains a pretty good Chocolate Cake recipe, because we all know that everything goes better with chocolate cake!
