Photographing reflective gold tiles can be tricky, or maybe not? Let them share their story just as they are.

Il Bruto porcelain console, crafted by Gregory Bonasera for Porcelain Bear. This wall-mounted design showcases a Brutalist style with Gothic influences, pairing a luxurious gold finish with a polished porcelain top in a range of alternative glaze options.

A trove of translucent porcelain tubes lies before me, sparking curiosity about their purpose. What is their story? What role will they play for the rest of their days? I often overlook my own recklessness when handling porcelain. I tossed these into the trough quite freely, hardly considering any possibility of damage, I don’t really question my ability to apply appropriate caution. Yet, they’re not as fragile as one might think; they’re surprisingly resilient, hard and yes, subtle, elegant and translucent.

In the world of crackle glaze,
imperfections become the hallmark of elegance and the art lies not in controlling the process, but in embracing the uncertainty, allowing the piece to reveal its own unique, enigmatic story. This image shows the top of a very new work to be added to Porcelain Bear’s catalog and to be exhibited next week at as part of their October exhibition of thirty exceptional creatives over three days.

This porcelain persimmon is an excellent example of the detail we can achieve with the moulding techniques we specialise in at Porcelain Bear. Considered to be a rare trade, this is a method which has been used in the ceramic industry for around 300 years. Methods of making moulds for ceramics have kept pace with technology but the material used, plaster of Paris, has not been updated.
