Ah the smell of cheap questionably sourced timber from the big green shed being cut into pieces for the next project!!!

Nice new custom piece with a purple haze feel. Combo of Chinese maple and BlackDiamondPigments ‘pure pearl white’ and Health of Mind Art ‘grap purple’ and LuciClear epoxy. Just now time@for cure before next step.
Walking down the beach found a piece of driftwood. So going to see what I can make of it. Thought a bit of colour would be fun. Been a while since I have been on the lathe! Will see how the epoxy sets so see what comes next!
Flattening this table before the sanding begins!!! Am a big fan of my router which does the job. My flattening jig is on its lat legs. But now just need to sand and clean up some more.
Six years today my Mum finally rested from a long battle with cancer. The day still tears at my heart even now. It is just the small things, I just wish I could share, but that time has passed. I was blessed to have her in my life for so long. Blessed that I see her strengths in my amazing sister. Encouraged that I know she impacted people lives for the better when her path crossed with others. I miss you Mum, if this pain is the price for love, it is still worth the cost. If you have gotten this far, I encourage you to tell three people in your life that matter to you that they matter.
Love the last stage. Covering the board with this board butter I have made myself. Few days to cure then out to its new owner!
Request to add in some small grooves under the brisket board to make it easier to pick up, but I wanted a particular shape. Happy to have my router table with equipment from the retro stop blocks from and an amazing router bit from . So nothing like a few starting pieces of timber and some double sided tape solved the problem!!!!
Making progress on this little board with a juice groove and juice collection point. I know there must be easier ways to do the juice groove, but just finding my way!
Ah yes phase 2 of the board now the glue up is done. With a bit of flattening, sanding and fixing some voids. Will confess, loving this little glue brush set from . Has made this little part much more enjoyable!!!
It’s been a minute! Just starting a new custom board. I still have a few projects on the go, but will try and square this one away pretty quickly. I have been a little burnt out with life and work, but nice to get the creative juices flowing again…..
