Let's talk Quilt Retreats.....
Every year our group known as the Kitchen Table Quilt Group heads down toThe Crafty Barn Retreat at Eastbrook for 4 days sewing...
And the Kitchen Table.... involves lots of Laughter, Friendship, Ideas, and talking things thru, although this time there was also lots of singing... ("Coriander" - what happens at quilt retreat, stays at quilt retreat, needless to say we were in stitches....) and fabulous food ladies..
As always... The Crafty Barn Retreat at Eastbrook is special, you immediately RELAX, UNWIND, and let the sewing begin..... some special projects were completed this year, here's a few snaps... ps. we also discovered the Chocolate Factory just the other side of Pemberton - yummy coffee and CHOCOLATE....
I look forward to our Retreat next year.... If you need a Quilt Retreat, highly recommend The Crafty Barn Retreat at Eastbrook, take your own kitchen table group of Quilty friends and treat yourself.

Liberty Scarf now a Liberty Cushion…. while cleansing my closet, found a scarf bury and never used after making it a couple of years ago. Good indication it didn’t feel right. So…. cut it up and turned into a cushion, now that’s pretty.

absolutely loving the Duffle Bag Sew-along, it’s been fun and easy coming together. fabric looks great. I used wadding with mine, like the idea of folding up when not in use. A heavier weight echino cotton for straps and lining. Just the inside bindings to go. 1 down, many more to make 😍

Nothing like straight line quilting to ease into the Duffle SewAlong. Took a 10” layer cake of made a disappearing nine patch top then cut her up into pieces for quilting. I’m using wadding and a old heavier weight backing. Coming along nicely Still time to join in with the

hello possums
Just had the pleasure of staying at the newest retreat venue now available for quilters and crafters in WA.
The Crafty Barn Retreat at Eastbrook set on 11 acres near Pemberton, an absolute delight.
Firstly there's the Barn itself,, and as the girls all arrived, we all let out a WOW. A spacious rammed earth building, where we could spread out everywhere and we did.
Secondly, take a few steps and you're in a cosy well equipped house, with super comfy king single beds. Each room themed with a designer eg: "Kaffe" room or a fabric range eg: the 1930's room etc. Warm Blankets and of course a quilt or two. I also loved the little surprise of a local soap maker upon our towels.
Both the Barn and House had the wood fires burning upon our arrival and we were toasty warm throughout our stay. I was especially grateful for a few days away to sew and laugh with good friends. Thinking of a retreat, well book! Seriously we have re-booked two more retreats as these venues fill up fast.
Remember, plan your drive along the way, stop and support local businesses, the quilt stores, artists in community shops, wood makers and even a thrift shop or two.
Then relax and SEW, SEW, SEW...... and "oh hear that serenity".....(aka The Castle).
