So nice to have my Rhythm Desk in Blackbutt, Wenge and sterling silver back in the studio, even if it is to undertake water damage repairs to the top. Commissioned in 2005 by a long-term patron. Here you see the three triangular drawers, each of which swivels out on a seperate segment of the Wenge leg. Taper roller bearings fitted to each one helps to keep it from sagging, while providing an almost frictionless action. A fine, 1mm sterling silver inlay is set in just shy of the top of each drawer. Absolutely, the duck’s nuts! I am not normally one to proselytise tool brands, but I’ve now had this Veritas PM-V11 blade in my No 5 for several years now, and its performance blows me away compared to anything else Ive tried. For me, a distant second is my Clifton HCS blade - also a darn good blade. This blade’s edge just hangs in there, and when it comes to sharpening time, it’s a breeze. I love it !
