Been a very busy few weeks with some late nights as we have been getting Rig 3 ready for one of our Drilling customers.
New MTU engine, air end and coolers all swapped out and ready to head back to the bush.

A position has opened for a fitter within Contract Diesel for ongoing projects in Perth.

$45ph starting with company ute or truck
Workshop and field work throughout the metro area
Working on a variety of equipment from civil, mining, on-highway, marine and genset's

Requirements
- Qualified HD fitter with 2 years post trade preferred
- Experience with on-highway and earth moving
- Current drivers license and HR
- Police clearance
- Good work ethic
- Willing to do overtime

One of our valued customers was scheduled in to have a bearing roll completed on their C15 powered Kenworth. The engine had completed 1,400,000 km and the owner wanted a better understanding of his engine condition.

Once the sump was removed we soon discovered the big-end bearings had started to delaminate and bearing flakes were found throughout the engine lubrication system.

The engine was overdue for a rebuild and repair options were discussed with the customer. Further inspection found the crank shaft needed crack testing and polishing. The block had fretting and liner height inserts were required. The engine was then removed from the truck and a full rebuild was completed.

The job is now complete and the customer is very happy with the increased power and reduced engine noise.

The customer was very lucky not to have a major failure and show’s that oil sampling and scheduled maintenance could have prevented an unforeseen overhaul.

Rig 3 drilling for Potash Salt out at Lakewells Station.

Recently we have commenced working along side Aqua Drill Resources as their go to for all mechanical maintenance on their Drilling, on-site transport/ service transport and workshop facilities.

⚡️ One of our field service boys heading out to Australian Potash towards Laverton to inspect the latest project currently underway.

Customer with a C12 came in with coolant leaking into the engine oil, diagnosed no #3 liner to be leaking but as soon as we removed the head we opened a nest of other issues. The head had cracks in between every set of exhaust valves and debris marks throughout the tops of the pistons. Engine was overdue for a rebuild so we stripped and inspected liner projection's and put a full set of cylinder liners, pistons, new head, bearing roll and new water pump.

Customer had a hydraulic line burst on there cat 287, pumping hydraulic oil straight into the intake, engine ran away and bent a couple con-rods. Full rebuild with fresh rods and pistons.

This weekend we achieved the replacement of both the pins and bushes on the posi track and the digger. We also resealed the hydraulic cylinders whilst on site.

A customer had a truck engine run away from turbo feeding oi,l so we completed an overhaul replacing the turbo, injectors, pistons, rods and servicing the head. always a fun job when you can't lift the cab.
