🌱 ITS OFTEN THE SIMPLE THINGS THAT MATTER MOST.

We don’t always need to make life complicated to understand what is important.

We plant a veggie garden, nurture the seeds firstly in the hot house and then transplant them into the garden watching them grow and enjoying the goodness of life and what it brings to our table. We know that when we give something care and attention we give it the best opportunity to flourish.

And isn’t it much the same with ourselves?

We try to eat well, enjoy the fresh air and make time for the things that bring us happiness. But sometimes, in the busyness of life, we overlook two things we spend so much time doing - sleeping and resting.

A good nights sleep matters. So does having a comfortable place to sit and unwind and let the day slow down.

After 44 years in the furniture and bedding industry, I’ve come to appreciate that a mattress is more than just a mattress and a chair is more than just somewhere to sit.

They’re part of our daily lives.

With so many styles, fabrics, comfort choices and bedding options available, there is often more to discover than what you see displayed.

My floor stock selection of mattresses and chairs are carefully chosen and selected remembering every customer is an individual and will have different requirements, preferences and needs.

But please don’t hesitate to ask! If looking for something in particular as this is only a small selection of what I have available and I’d love the opportunity to help you explore the possibilities and find what’s right for you.

Caring for you is very important to me.

The comfort we experience, the support we feel and the way our surroundings invite us to relax are all worth giving some thought to.

So let’s keep things simple. Let’s nurture our gardens, nourish our bodies, make time to rest and choose comfort thoughtfully.

Sometimes, looking after ourselves begins with the little things we do every day.

🌱A little care. A little comfort. A little more time for ourselves.

“When we nurture what matters, we give it the opportunity to flourish - and that includes ourselves.”

A Sincere Thank You ❤️

Throughout the Clark family’s 60-year celebration in furniture and bedding, I have been truly touched by the kindness shown to me by so many people.

Thank you to everyone who dropped by, shared a memory, wrote lovely messages, arrived with beautiful flowers and enjoyed a laugh or catch up remembering earlier days.
These thoughtful gestures, along with your lovely words have meant more to me than you know.
It has been so special to have my 27 years in the original family business remembered and acknowledged as part of this important milestone.

One of the joys of living and working in a smaller town is the wonderful connections we make and the way people take the time to show their appreciation.
Your thoughtfulness has genuinely touched me.

Furniture and bedding has always been about more than just selling a product to me. Having seen people go through difficult times, making sure everyone has a bed to sleep in and a chair to sit on has always been close to my heart. I want every customer to feel welcome, valued and cared for whatever their circumstances.

My 27 happy valued years working alongside my parents will always be part of my story and I am grateful for the years behind me, the wonderful people I have met along the way, and the opportunity to continue doing what I love.

Thank you for remembering my part in the story and I look forward to continuing to welcome familiar faces and new customers alike.

Thank you all
Elle 💕

As I’ve been reminded by many customers and friends that I formed part of this story too.

There have been celebrations marking 60 years of the Clark Family Furniture and Bedding Business- 60 years of History, Memories, Customers, Hard Work and Family.

And while I’ve watched it from the outside, I’ve had to remind myself of something very important.

I’m in this story too.

I gave 27 years of my working life to that family business. I worked happily alongside my parents, served customers and poured my heart into furniture and bedding.

Then 17 years ago, I made the decision to open my own furniture and bedding business.

And here I am - 17 years later still doing what I love.

But throughout a week of Clark 60 year celebrations I’ve been deeply touched by the kindness of people popping in for a chat with me and thanking me for my commitment and reminiscing over times gone by.

Some have known me for decades.
Some of you remember me from those early family- business days where I started selling furniture from the shed’s behind my parents home.
And some who simply wanted to come in, see me and offer congratulations or a hug.

And I realise

You can’t erase history

The memories are still mine
The customers remember
The years of experience are mine
The relationships I build are mine

After all these years I’m still here

Still selling and helping families furnish their homes
Still welcoming customers through my doors
Still passionate about furniture and bedding

And perhaps the greatest compliment of all is that after 44 years in the industry I’m still here doing what I love.

So yes celebrate 60 years

But remember……

I’m in those 60 years too

So here are a couple of stories I can tell you about my years working for my parents

When they were selling carpet the carpet layer was measuring the room up for a customer. As he was not bending down on the floor to get the room size but standing to run the tape from wall to wall she very definitely told him she wanted the carpet on the floor not on wall.😉

I remember the delivery of an electric lift chair for a delightful ladies 100th birthday.
Upon Ken (my dad) congratulating her on her wonderful milestone she quick as a flash said smiling ….. you know what keeps me going Ken, I’ve got 3 men in my life…. Dad looking a little startled, she quickly informed him,
Uncle Toby, Arthritis and Epsom Salt. 🥰

Well I will leave the wonderful stories now.

And after everything, I’m proud to say I’m still standing, still selling- and still very much writing my own Eleanor Clark chapter

Cheers for now
