Sam Pearlman joins Eakin McCaffery Cox 27 October 2023.
Sam is an experienced commercial disputes and insolvency lawyer with specialist experience in the financial services sector. He has held partner roles in Australian mid size law firms and been a director of a law firm owned by a publicly listed mercantile agency. More recently, Sam worked in the Sydney office of a global firm.
Sam has acted for some of Australia's major banking institutions as well as smaller mid- tier and bespoke lenders. He has also acted for many of Sydney's insolvency practices in liquidations and administrations work.
Sam specialises in legal recoveries, whether secured or unsecured loans, claims by insolvency practitioners, insurance recoveries or in larger contractual disputes. Same has considerable court experience over the years and acted in proceedings in all major jurisdictions along the Australian eastern seaboard.
Wherever possible, Sam seeks commercial resolution of disputes in a cost effective and prompt manner so that clients can carry on with their business, rather than be in court.
Sam has been a member of the New South Wales Law Society since 1994 and a councillor with the Australian Institute of Credit Management since 2009. Sam was included in the 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions of Best Lawyers in Australia for Insolvency and Reorganization Law.

David joins Eakin McCaffery Cox in 2023 with a deep knowledge of and experience in acting for the Australian Government on advice and transactional work both national and internationally for numerous government departments and semi-government agencies. This has included advising on Centrelink premises leasing Australia-wide and documenting numerous embassy and consular premises world-wide. He has advised the Big 4 Australian banks on all aspects of their branch leasing. Optus, Hutchison and Vodafone all used his services and skills on their national mobile telecommunications base station rollouts as have a range of major institutions both as landlord and tenant on landmark Agreements for Lease. David has advised and represented institutional investors, universities, foreign entities and a range of developers acquiring and disposing of commercial, industrial and retail properties.
