I was actually asked this question today:
“Where would you spend less if you were renovating your own bathroom?”
And these were two of the first things that came to my mind 👇
Feature tiles — I love a feature tile when it’s done well, but more often than not, I’d lean towards using the same tile throughout. It creates a calmer, more seamless feel and allows other elements in the space to take centre stage.
Engaging a joinery company for the vanity — not because custom cabinetry isn’t valuable, but because there are now custom-made vanity options available that can achieve a similar result without the traditional joinery company price tag.
Of course, this is just my opinion, but I’d love to know where you’d prioritise your budget.

A lot of bathroom lately are leaning towards softer, neutral palettes — but what I’m seeing more and more is the introduction of warmer statement colours throughout the space.
Whether it’s through a feature tile, towels or styling accessories, it’s such a beautiful way to add depth and personality without overwhelming the bathroom.
It’s so easy to get caught up in trends and trying to create the “perfect” bathroom…
But the spaces that tend to stand the test of time are usually the simplest and most considered.
Good layout.
Good storage.
Good lighting.
Shower niches don’t need to be huge… Just functional enough for the products you actually use day to day.
Keeping the proportions more refined and working with your tile size usually gives a much more cleaner and more considered look.
A lot of these details are things first time renovators may not even know about.
A statement tile, feature lighting, multiple finishes, curves, textures… individually they can all look beautiful!
But when too many elements compete for attention, the space can quickly start to feel overwhelming.
The best bathrooms usually keep things simple and let a few key details stand out.
It really comes down to how much of an impact you want to make!
Don’t leave this detail in your tilers hands, this is something you need to be across.
What a transformation!
It’s always rewarding seeing our customers bathrooms all come together in the end!
What would you do??
Keep the finishes consistent across all bathrooms… or change it up in each space?
I tend to think a bit of consistency helps the whole home feel more considered — but I’m curious what everyone prefers! 😀
Tapware and basin proportions need to work together— otherwise the whole setup can feel off.
Too high, or too low, or not aligned properly.. it’s something you’ll notice everyday and P you off!
It’s also one of the easiest things to get right with a bit of planning.
