Honestly, this is something we’ve been thinking about a lot. Somewhere along the way, everything started looking a little too polished, a little too predictable. And while we love a beautiful, pared-back space, we also love a home that tells you something about the person living in it.

Give us the odd little object, the colour you can’t stop thinking about, the vintage piece with a story, the artwork that makes absolutely no sense to anyone else but you. Give us the things that make a space feel lived in.

Because good design can be beautiful, but it should also make you feel something. And that takes people willing to experiment, make a mess, break a few rules and put a bit of themselves into what they create.

This audio really got us thinking about all of it. Credit to for putting it into words.

What do you reckon are we ready to let a little more personality back into our spaces?

A little summer feeling, brought indoors. ☀️🤎

Comment RESIDENCE and we’ll send you the full product list. 💌

We’ve rounded up some of our favourite Australian brands for the kind of home that feels like a long lunch, a coastal escape and a very good summer holiday all at once. Think playful pieces, beautiful materials and those little details that make a space feel like somewhere you want to spend all day.

Okay, which one’s coming home with you?

Powder rooms are where a little design mischief can go a long way. 🤎

They’re small, which means you can push the colour, play with pattern, go a little bolder with the materials and generally have more fun with the brief.

We’ve rounded up a few Australian projects that really understood the assignment each one taking a very different approach to the powder room.

Sometimes it’s the unexpected pairings that make the whole scheme click maybe a dusty pink with a warm brown, a rich red against something softer, or two shades that somehow just get each other.

We’ve pulled together a few of our favourite paint pairings that we think deserve soulmate status.
