Another busy Monday morning in the Rustic Vibes workshop! 🍷🛠️

There's a lot more to a w**e barrel than meets the eye.

When you see one of our finished w**e barrel bars, it's easy to overlook just how much work goes into getting it there.

Every barrel arrives at our workshop with its own history. Years of w**e staining, weathering, marks and imperfections — all part of its previous life.

Before we can even begin transforming it into furniture, there's the process of stripping it back, sanding, preparing and restoring the oak.

And that's just the beginning!

From constructing the cabinetry and fitting the hardware through to staining, finishing and allowing everything to cure, there's plenty happening behind the workshop doors.

It's certainly not the quickest way to make furniture, but there's something incredibly rewarding about giving these old barrels a completely new purpose.

This beautifully personalised w**e barrel is all finished and ready to head off to its new home!

Featuring a custom family engraving, carefully laser engraved directly into the side of the barrel— not stuck on, painted on or applied as a decal.

Just a permanent design that becomes part of the timber itself.

We love how the dark engraving stands out against the natural character of the barrel, making this w**e barrel a truly personal, one-of-a-kind piece.

The finishing touch to a beautiful w**e cellar! 🍷

Sometimes we get to be a small part of something pretty special. ❤️

This personalised Half W**e Barrel Bar recently left our workshop as a wedding anniversary gift.

Not long after it arrived, we received this lovely message:

Next stop, Victoria! 🚚

This sugar gum live edge bar and six matching swivel stools are ready to leave the workshop for their new home.

The rich timber jarrah stained grain and natural edge give this slab so much character, sitting proudly on two reclaimed w**e barrels. Paired with padded swivel seats, it’s ready for long catch-ups, a few drinks and good company. 🍻

A little piece of Melbourne Street, made to last. 🕰️

This custom 630mm clock was handcrafted from a genuine reclaimed w**e barrel head, with the customer’s own wh**ky bar design laser engraved directly into the oak.

They chose to include their street name, location and a meaningful established date—turning the clock into something completely personal to their home.

We love how the original grain and character of the barrel remain visible through the finished piece. No two barrel heads are ever exactly alike, which means no two clocks will be either.

Personalised engraving is included in the price of every clock.

A little sneak peek from the workshop… 🥃

We’ve been experimenting with detailed laser engraving directly onto glass for a brand-new product created especially for wh***ey lovers.

The golden colour you can see is a test liquid inside the glass, used to imitate the look of wh***ey and help us see how the finished engraving will appear once the product is filled.

It has taken plenty of testing to get the detail just right, but we’re getting very close to revealing the finished piece.

Pushing the limits of our laser engraver… 🔥

Laser engraving a flat piece of timber is one thing.

Engraving a design this size directly onto the curved surface of a genuine w**e barrel is a whole different challenge.

But we do love a challenge. 😄

This custom Cicero Farm House engraving was created directly onto the face of one of our reclaimed w**e barrels — and we couldn't be happier with how beautifully the detail has come through against the natural oak.

We're continually experimenting with what we can achieve with our laser engraving, giving our customers even more ways to make their Rustic Vibes piece truly their own.

Names, family monograms, property names, business logos or something completely unique — if you've got an idea, talk to us and we'll see what we can create.
