Tuesday in Christchurch marked the final stop on the 3-city NZ tour, the first of its kind.

Our Ktronics Technician Challenge ran across all cities, with techs of all experience levels jumping in to wire, strip, and arm a panel under pressure. Huge thanks to our partner sponsor Aritech Australia for supplying the licensed panels.

Great to catch up with two legends of the industry at the Wellington leg of the SecTech Roadshow Australia & New Zealand yesterday.

Patrick Tocher from Surveillance Technologies and Aaron Cargill from Aritech Australia.

Thank you for supporting the Ktronics Electronic Security Solutions Technician Challenge. We have been using the Aritech Reliance XR Pro Panel for our competition and it has created a lot of conversation as it is a common product in Australia but relatively new to the New Zealand market.

I wouldn’t be in the industry if it wasn’t for this man.

One of the highlights of yesterday's SectTech Roadshow NZ was catching up with him. Gilbert gave me my very first job in the electronic security systems industry in New Zealand nearly 26 years ago.

Axis called me up and said “Karl, you’re such a great customer, we’re giving you free product for life!”

… Just kidding.

But they did hand over this haul of Axis goodies for the upcoming NZ leg of the SecTech Roadshow Australia & New Zealand.

Shoutout to the team at Axis Communications for the support, especially Joseph Antonios.

These will make great prizes for our Security Technician Challenge in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

Didn’t manage to snap any Instagram worthy photos at SecTech Sydney yesterday. I was too busy chatting with suppliers, clients, and mates in the industry.

From full camera setups to motorbike racing sims, there was plenty going on and an even better turnout.

Ktronics will venturing out of Aussie and will be joining the SecTech Roadshow for the NZ tour in June.

Coming off a big 4-day weekend, and with another public holiday around the corner, I’ve given a few of the Ktronics crew the chance to take some extra leave.

This week we’re running on skeleton staff.

We’ve kept enough boots on the ground to keep projects moving and cover any emergencies, but we’re definitely running a bit lighter than usual.

Running a small business is always a balancing act. Making sure your team gets a proper break, while still delivering for your clients. It’s not always easy, but it’s part of what makes a strong business and an even stronger team.

Thanks to our clients for your understanding, and a huge thanks to the Ktronics crew for always stepping up when it counts.

The United States? Over 330 million.

When it comes to crime rates, system complexity, and market scale, the U.S. security industry is operating on a whole different playing field. That’s exactly why attending ISC West in Las Vegas was so valuable.

What a way to mark 22 years in business with Ktronics!

I've wrapped up three big days at ISC West in Las Vegas.

It’s hard to believe it’s now been over 20 years since I came to my first ISC West.

The tech's changed and the expo has grown.

This industry never stops evolving, and that’s what keeps it exciting.

If you're thinking about coming next year, the dates are already up behind me 👉 March 23–27, 2026.

Enjoyed seeing this AI-driven home security system that uses motion detection and paintball deterrents to tag intruders.

Anyone want one installed in their warehouse/business? 😅

Day 2 at ISC West.

Loving the innovation coming out of this show, can’t wait to bring some of it back home but maybe not the paintball camera just yet.

Still so much to see, and only one day left.
