āØSIMPLE STYLE TIP āØ
Not sure what your āinterior designā style is? Have you ever thought to look in your wardrobe for inspiration? Interior design & fashion design have always been closely connected and it makes sense when you think about the elements that make up both, such as the use of materials, colour, pattern, style, texture, structure & design. But the we most important thing in my opinion is simply identifying your āpersonal styleā & for some reason people generally find it easier to identify their fashion style & types of clothing they feel good in. So if youāre struggling to find your interior style, have a look at your favourite items of clothing (include jewellery, handbags & shoes) in your wardrobe & ask yourself why you love them!? Is it the colour, the textural feel, the comfort? Is it because itās fun, playful & colourful or is it because itās neutral, calm & comfortable? You will probably notice a pattern in your clothing ie lots of the same or similar colours, lots of pattern, no pattern etc etc. Whatever you love in fashion & accessories will usually translate to something you would love to have in your home interior furnishings & accessories.
You can also apply this tactic at the start of each season. When you change your clothing from summery cotton to to wool, leather, linen & sheepskin..you let this inspire you & give you ideas for autumn/winter decorating in your home. Just like fashion, there are no rules. So long as it feels good to you!
