Owners Bernard and Jean-Luc have been trading together for over 25years
& moved to their current Unley Rd premises in 1993. This includes cabinetwork, French polishing,Leather desk top replacement,Lock & Key repairs. Our showroom displays an eclectic range of furniture,art & decorator items. We also specialise in creating a unique range of gilded overmantel mirrors & are frequently commissioned to make furniture from exotic & Australian timbers.

Have been busy woodturning chest of drawer k***s for a fine Colonial Cedar Chest.
The trusty old Record lathe is a very accurate and solid lathe. Best of British quality!!!
Original k***s in ebony, Jarrah used as a substitute.

Nice to work on this lovely Georgian Gentleman’s Press.
All original polish work cleaned and re polished using Button Shellac.
Nice fading to the flame mahogany veneers.
Quality beeswax completed the restoration process.

French polishing underway. The shellac brings out the colour and grain of the timber.

All hand sanding done. I usually sand down to a 240 grit paper.
Care must be taken not to sand through and damage the veneers.

After stripping the delicate inlays and marquetry are revealed.
Timbers includes Walnut, Kingwood, Mahogany and Rosewood.

Full restoration on two pairs of French bedside tables begins.
All brass handles and embellishments are removed.
Here the the old varnish/lacquer is hand stripped.
