We're still admiring the rich art deco vibes in this Moscow home - featured in a couple of years ago. The home belongs to 1stDibs 50 honoree Irakli Zaria (), who details Jean-Michel Frank's influence in the home's design and tonalities. A Shell lounge chair and Costela ottoman by Carlo Hauner and Ignazio Gardells were found on , as were the 1920s and ’30s French straw-marquetry boxes (designed by Jean-Michel Frank!) on the coffee table.

This is a breathtaking Val Saint-Lambert Da Vinci vase (1930s). I am a cut glass tragic at the best of times. Love the smoked lined clear crystal!! In 1926, Val Saint Lambert glassworks celebrated its 100th birthday. At this time, the Belgian glassworks employed over 5,000 employees, and gained new ground by unveiling innovative collections in the art deco style. Sadly, with an export market representing 90% of its turnover in the 1930s, the Great Depression hit the Val Saint Lambert glassworks hard, only to be further devastated by bombings in WWII.

Thankfully, crystal became increasingly popular in the 1950s, becoming a household (luxury) item. Extensive collaborations with external designers through to the 70s and 80s ensured the sustainable production of this beautiful glassware, through to present day. Respect the craftsmanship. Love the aesthetic.

We’re taking a peek inside Sandra Bullock’s beautifully restored Manhattan home. A 19th-century property that, in her words, required “major renovations and a lot of love.” Bullock was immediately drawn to its lush garden, original fireplaces and wonderfully light-filled living spaces. Having purchased the home 20 years ago, she describes its gradual restoration as much more than a renovation — it became part of her own journey, a process she described as “trying to find my way in adulthood.”

A home with history, character and a very personal story, and plenty of inspiration for lovers of timeless interiors. 🖤

At Art Deco Co, we respect eclecticism and maximalist design that delivers this character, comfort and charisma. To complement Sandra Bullock's antique collection, the architects added custom pieces, such as comfortable sofas placed near the living room fireplace. Artisans played a key role in the renovation. Missing pieces of ceiling medallions had to be hand-carved, and 19th-century fireplaces were carefully recreated. FUN FACT: A fireplace that had been removed by a previous owner was even discovered at a neighbor's house.
