Huge shout-out to the young men from Prince Alfred College who rang ahead and booked in for our famous Yorketown pies, pasties and pastries.

I was lucky enough to meet and greet some of the students and staff. What a credit to the program — the life skills training shone through in every interaction. The boys were genuinely respectful, curious and thoughtful with their questions, and they handled a conversation with a complete stranger (me!) like absolute pros. Social cues, manners and genuine interest all on full display. Well done to the staff — you’re clearly getting it right.

We love seeing young people building real-world skills, and your group made it look easy (even while eyeing off the pie cabinet).

You’re welcome back anytime — the oven will be on and the pies will be waiting! 👏🤝

P.S. Looking ahead to 2027, our retail butchery will be open, selling primal cuts (head to tail) from our farmers’ collective
Welcome to the farmers’ table.
