There will be a "dramatic shift" between 2011 and 2016, with the "once-dominant" Windows-Intel (aka, x86) PCs dropping from a market-dominating 35.9 percent share in 2011 to 25.1 percent in 2016," IDC said.
Mobile devices like Android phones and tablets and Apple iPhones and iPads will step into the void and begin to dominate. Android devices (using ARM chips) will grow from 29.4 percent share in 2011 to a leading 31.1 percent share in 2016. And Apple's iOS-based devices will grow from a 14.6 percent share in 2011 to 17.3 percent in 2016.

About BASIS Softexpo 2012
BASIS is going to arrange BASIS SoftExpo 2012 from February 24 to 28 in 2012 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Dhaka. This yearly mega expo is the largest IT exhibition in the country. BASIS has been organizing the event regularly from 2003.
Stall registration for BASIS SoftExpo 2012 has already begun. So far over 90% of the stalls have already been booked. It is expected that over 150 companies (both local and international) companies are going to take part at this year’s event. This year a number of intentional companies from UK, Denmark and Netherlands will take part. There will be different zones for exhibition including business application, e-Governance, mobile applications, e-Commerce/m-Commerce, e-Learning, Outsourcing, Multimedia, communication solutions etc.
Apart from the exposition, there will be a number of side events during the 5 day event. Those include Seminars & Roundtables, Technical Workshops, IT Talent Search Program, Programming Contest, Quiz competition, Student Carnival etc.
