২৬শে মার্চ শুধুমাত্র একটি তারিখ নয়, এটি আমাদের অস্তিত্বের ভিত্তি, আত্মত্যাগের প্রতিচিত্র এবং বিজয়ের প্রতীক। এই দিনে আমরা স্মরণ করি তাঁদের, যাঁদের আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের আজকের স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ এনে দিয়েছে।

স্বাধীনতা মানে কেবল শৃঙ্খলমুক্ত হওয়া নয়, বরং চিন্তার মুক্তি, বাকস্বাধীনতা, উন্নয়নের পথচলা এবং দেশ গঠনের অঙ্গীকার। তাই আসুন, আমরা সবাই একসঙ্গে নিজেদের জ্ঞানের পরিধি বাড়াই, ইতিহাসকে জানি এবং আগামী প্রজন্মের জন্য একটি সমৃদ্ধ বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলি।

Quizzers Society of BUP স্বাধীনতার চেতনা ও জ্ঞানের আলো ছড়িয়ে দিতে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ। কারণ প্রকৃত স্বাধীনতা আসে তখনই, যখন আমরা জানতে চাই, প্রশ্ন করতে শিখি এবং সঠিক পথের সন্ধান করি।

কবি আল মাহমুদের এই পঙক্তিগুলো অর্ধশতকেরও বেশি সময়ের পূর্বে হলেও আজও ভীষণ প্রাসঙ্গিক। যে ভাষার জন্য সেসময় বিপ্লবী বাঙলি বিদ্রোহী চেতনায় উজ্জীবিত হয়ে বাংলার রাজপথ রাঙিয়ে তুলেছিল, আজও সেই বাংলায় রাজপথ কেঁপে ওঠে অধিকার আদায়ের স্লোগানে - অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে ন্যায্য দাবিতে। বায়ান্ন'র রাজপথ আমাদের মাতৃভাষা বাংলার প্রাপ্য সম্মানটুকু অর্জনে সমর্থ হয়েছিল, সেই শুরু - তারপর একে একে বাষট্টি, ছেষট্টি, উনসত্তর, একাত্তর, নব্বই, চব্বিশের রাজপথ দেখেছে ভিন্নমাত্রার সব আন্দোলন - চিত্রপট পাল্টেছে, পাল্টেছে প্রেক্ষাপট, শুধু থেকে গেছে বাঙালি চেতনা, আর প্রতিবাদের বাংলা ভাষা।

এতোকিছুর পরও একটি শূন্যতা অনুভূত হয়, যখন আমাদের দেশের সাধারণ নাগরিক নিরাপদে পথেঘাটে চলতে কুণ্ঠিত বোধ করে, বারংবার প্রতিবাদের প্রয়োজন বোধ করে - যেদিন এই ভূখণ্ডে বাংলার মা-বোন-সাধারণ জনতা নির্দ্বিধায় নিরাপদে সকল অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত ঘটনার ভয় থেকে মুক্ত হয়ে প্রকৃত স্বাধীনতা উপভোগ করবে - সেদিনই একুশের চেতনা শুধু সফল নয়, সার্থক হয়ে উঠবে।

পৃথিবীর সকল ভাষাভাষী মানুষের প্রতি যথাযথ সম্মান প্রদর্শনপূর্বক বায়ান্ন'র ভাষা শহীদদের আত্মত্যাগের অনুরূপ শপথ নিয়ে আমাদের নূতন প্রতিশ্রুতি হোক স্বাধীন বাংলার পরিপূর্ণ স্বাদ, কেননা আল মাহমুদ আরও বলেছেন -

"প্রভাতফেরি, প্রভাতফেরি,
আমায় নেবে সঙ্গে?
বাংলা আমার বচন, আমি জন্মেছি এই বঙ্গে।"

এই বচন, এই বঙ্গ, এই বোধ-কে ধারণ করে 'কুইজার্স সোসাইটি অব বিইউপি'র পক্ষ থেকে সকলকে আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস এর শুভেচ্ছা।

'বিজয়' কেবল একটি শব্দ নয়, এর অর্থ নানাবিধ এবং প্রয়োগ বহুমাত্রিক। বিজয় বলতে আমরা যেমন শাসন-শোষণ থেকে স্বাধীনতাকে বুঝি, তেমনি বিজয় বলতে আমরা বুঝি অর্থনৈতিক মুক্তি, সমাজে সমতার নিশ্চয়তা, চলাফেরা, ভাষা ও রাজনীতির অধিকার, শ্রেণী-ধর্ম-বর্ণ-জাতি নির্বিশেষে একটি সামষ্টিক পরিচয় - সর্বোপরি, বিজয় বলতে আমরা বুঝি পৃথিবীর মানচিত্রে বাংলাদেশ নামক একটি স্বাধীন ও সার্বভৌম ভূখণ্ড।

আজ বাংলাদেশ একটি নতুন বাস্তবতায় দাঁড়িয়ে; সামনে অপার সম্ভাবনা - একাত্তরে যাঁরা নিঃস্বার্থ আত্মত্যাগ করেছিলেন, তাঁদের দেখা স্বপ্নের একই প্রবাহে আমরাও দেখতে চাই এমন একটি বাংলাদেশ, যেখানে প্রতিটি মানুষের চূড়ান্ত মুক্তি অর্জন হয়েছে!
