In this reel, designer Monica Armani shares the story behind the distinctive round pole and central opening of the parasol.

Moving away from a conventional rectangular pole, the round shape creates a refined and sculptural aesthetic, while the opening in the centre was carefully designed to allow for the connection and movement of the parasol.

A thoughtful combination of function and minimalist design, where every detail has a purpose.
