Congratulations Dr. Tracey Thompson, Director of The Oral & Public History Institute of the University of The Bahamas on winning The Wilson Award for her Project: The Legacy of the National Committee for Positive Action.

We applaud Dr. Tracey Thompson who became a recipient of the Wilson Awards, a grant that will aid in her research. The Wilson Family Foundation signed an MOU with UB in August 2021 and announced a commitment of $350,000 towards the establishment of the programme, which was designed to support research on The Bahamas.

On January 17th, 2018, Hon. Glenys Hanna - Martin, M.P, gave an address highlighting the journey to 'The '58 strike" and the role this movement (and others) played in paving the way for Majority Rule and a deepened democracy.
