This media console has been a fun one to build. Swipe to see some photos showing off all it has to offer.
Made entirely of solid oak and stained and sealed with Rubio Monocoat. It features sliding doors, adjustable shelves, storage for your record collection, holes for your cables in the back, and the ability to use your remotes on your electronics inside, thanks to the eye-catching slat design of the doors!
This piece is currently for sale for $2600. Canada wide shipping is available. And if you don’t act fast my wife will and it’ll end up in our new house 🙈🤷♂️.
And, thanks to for letting me show off her art alongside mine!

I’ve been slowly working away at this guy when motivation strikes and this weekend was a good one. The doors are done!
Cutting, sanding, staining, and attaching 54 individual pieces (+ a couple extras for when I goof) has been a daunting task. I’ve never done doors like these and so it took a few weeks to wrap my head around how I wanted to do them, a few weeks to actually take the leap, and a few weeks to make it happen. But look Mom, I made something cool!
Now that the doors are done, there’s a few more things to do before it all gets stained that nice brown and another project gets wrapped up.

When I was in preschool my life goal was to be a professional checkers player. Unfortunately my checkers skills probably haven’t developed much past preschool, so it might be time to give up on my childhood dream of riches, fame, and glory (anyone else want a checkers sequel to Queens Gambit?!).
Thankfully my checkered cutting boards are past a preschool level (at least I hope so!) so maybe if I keep making these boards it will help me perfect my checkers game and I can have the best of both worlds. 🤷♂️🌝
This board is already spoken for but if you’re interested in a different one, check out my For Sale story in my highlights.

Here’s the finished product before the handles went on. The diagonal grain on the walnut doors adds an awesome feature to the clean white counter and frame.
We delivered the final piece this afternoon to a fresh, new bathroom renovation (thanks for the help ). Here’s a couple pics before it left the shop - I’ll maybe post a few more another time.

Haven’t posted anything from this commission yet as it hasn’t really looked like much until this weekend when it finally took shape. Here’s a little sneaky peeky. It celebrated Family Day with me but is looking forward to joining a new family this week and with that will come a few more pics.

With the record player cabinet shelved (for now), I’ve spent a few evenings working on this piece for a friend of a friend.
Here’s what it was looking like the other day before I took it all apart to have it painted white. Excited to get the painted parts back and put it back together for real this time!

A little progress picture to show what’s been happening in the life of this oak tree. Sadly, this will be the last progress picture for a while as this guy is being put on the back burner for a bit. I promise that one day there will be a record player on top and records inside - but that day might only be in March...
The good news is that I’m starting work on a custom commission tomorrow instead! Exciting stuff ahead!

Remember those solid oak panels from a few days ago? Well they’ve transformed into something cooler over the last few days - a box! Who knows what it could transform in another couple days? 🦋🦋

I’ve been starting to use more solid wood in a few of my more recent projects rather than plywood. As a cabinet maker by trade, plywood is a really comfortable material to work with for me, so I’ve been stepping out of the ol’ comfort zone with this recent project.
I scored a deal on a bunch of skinny strips of oak and recently bought a planer, so I’ve been working through the process of gluing lots of skinny pieces into big panels that will one day be a record player cabinet.
Swipe to see a glimpse into the process & a desktop using the exact same process that I just finished up to help out a friend when Ikea was out of stock.
