Pysanky is the ancient art of Batik dying eggs. Beeswax is applied to the egg and the egg is then dipped into dye. This art dates back to 5000-3000 BC.

Pysanky is the art of using beeswax and dye to create a written story on an egg shell. Of course the art form has evolved over time and changed. Today with different types of dye, homemade and aniline, design and colour combinations are endless. The only thing to limit you in this is your own imagination.
