The rain has cleared, and we're left with puddles in the parking lot. You may start to see accelerated growth in your garden! Rain is generally slightly acidic, which helps release essential nutrients like nitrogen in a form plants can absorb much faster than tap water!

Rain is on the horizon for Calgary, which means it’s the perfect time to get your garden into the ground early to soak up that natural rainwater! We're expecting up to 100mm by Wednesday, so watch those annual planters and move them under cover when needed to avoid waterlogging. Get those rain barrels out and ready for collection.

Brought some green, left with every color and new friends!
Calgary, thank you so much for welcoming us with open arms to our very first Spring Fest: Holi and Vaishali Festival! Colin, Reenu, and Ajay had an absolute blast stepping out of the garden center and into the middle of such a vibrant celebration of community, color, and our favourite season 🥳
From meeting new friends at our booth to getting completely covered in colorful powder (as you can see, even the kids made sure we got a proper welcome!), today was an unforgettable reminder of how wonderful our community is.
We brought the plants, you brought the color. Thank you for having us!

Ever look at a professional planter and wonder how they make it look so balanced and full? While there's a few ways to design a planter, there's an easy formula you can follow to get started: Thriller, Filler, and Spiller! Save this post for when you're in buying plants!
🪴 Thriller – This is your tall, eye-catching focal point that adds instant drama and height.
🪴 Filler – These are mounding plants that sit at the base of your thriller, filling out the middle so the pot looks dense and lush.
🪴 Spiller - These are trailing plants that tumble right over the edge, softening the rim of your pot and anchoring the whole look.
