Well that was….easy!

“Nice legs, pity about the face”, was how this dresser was described.

Ouch! Don’t you worry though, we’ll get him fixed up 😉

When the going gets tough, the tough…mutter some choice words, question their life choices, do some rage cleaning, have a glass of wine, then get creative.
The veneer on the edges of these round tables was beyond help, but covering up that sunburst pattern felt criminal, so Benjamin Moore’s Advance paint and some stencilling was the answer. One of a kind, but not in a weird way 😜

I’m no purist when it comes to furniture. Paint, stain, decoupage, whatever. But I can guarantee no one will ever be stripping paint from hardware on my pieces! Even if it is hugely satisfying!! 🤣

I need ideas!! I picked up two of these an age ago. Started on the first then realised I wasn’t happy with that plan, so parked it and have been using them as work benches ever since. What do YOU think I should do with them?

Sometimes, there’s something really special hiding under old paint and varnish 💖

If you were an 8 year old boy, what’s the first thing you’d ask if you saw your mum wearing a “gas mask”?!

Stay safe out there, folks! 😉

The biggest mistake I’ve learned doing this, is that saying “this should be pretty easy”, is the most efficient way to ensuring that it will not, in fact be easy! And whilst we’re learning, using black paint is also the fastest way to becoming a perfectionist. Nothing goes unnoticed, but boy is the end result worth it!
This dresser wasn’t welcome in anyone’s home anymore, but I really hope it is now. With sleek lines and contrasting brushed gold hardware, it’s not just pretty but functional as well.

These church pews were so satisfying to work with. The client bought them knowing that with a bit of a change, they would look perfect in her already beautiful home, and she was right. Once the orange was gone, the beautiful grain of the wood was able to really show through and complement the reupholstered seats. It makes me so happy to imagine her children bouncing on them every morning!

Natural is beautiful, but sometimes you just need a bit of makeup, jewellery and new shoes, ya know? After a full exfoliation, these drawers had a makeover which involved a beautiful white paint wash, charcoal paint and brushed brass pulls.
