The largest indoor project to date. I was asked to upgrade a friends study/library. One 12' wall with a desk, 2 drawer file cabinet, bookshelves and bridge above desk. Second 11.5' wall with floor to ceiling 8' tall bookshelves. Made with Birch plywood with solid birch trim, special walnut stain and 3 coats of satin varethane, Thanks to Betty and all her help. These past four and a half weeks have been a blur!

Stair Stringer challenge...

Our single piece of composite 1 x 12" x12' fascia arrived from back order. With tax it cost $229. So I figured I can't screw this up otherwise it will be a costly mistake. So I made a template with a scrap piece of 1/4" Mdf and got it where two pieces per side handled all the angles with no stringers showing. I then traced it onto the composite and cut. I tested the first template and logically thought it should be same on the other side and of course it wasn't. So a couple of slight modifications and it worked. Then onto our back step, we had leftover 1" and 5/8" thick composite pieces however I have only mitred material of the same thickness to finish off corners. Betty remembered seeing on Instagram where a carpenter had done just that. She sent me the reel and I mitred a 1" front piece with two 5/8" sides pieces. Thank you Betty! ❀️ πŸͺšπŸ”¨πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

We finally got some tradional Nfld clapboard on our shed. It will be on one inside wall so maintenence shouldn't be an issue. A big Thank you to Freddie Gregory's aunt Ruby who was having her shed vinyl sided so her old clapboard was destined for the landfill. I am told that some of this clapboard board used to be on Fred's grandfather horse stable in Georgetown so it comes with some history. Betty did her magic and put the design puzzle together. I was able to remove some of the beige paint with a grinder and rubber disk to reveal the red, cut a ton of straight ends on the tablesaw and tacked it all on with a brad nailer. πŸͺšπŸ”¨πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Made this project with leftover scrap wood to organize plywood and Mdf. The only purchase was 4 casters and 2 hinges from Avalon Home Hardware Building Centre . Working in a smaller shop you need to conserve space. So I checked Youtube and came up with this design.

Two custom beds for a friend's grandchildren. They were designed for a room that was 108" long x 66" wide. I built a twin bed with a removeable headboard and placed it lengthwise in the room and built an oversized crib mattress bed with a removeable platform and skirting. A request for a small safety rail was integrated into and build design.

Finally got the screen system built for the 11 x 8' garage door of the shop. It comes in three removeable sections with a door built in one section. This allows more light, airflow while working and most importantly keeps the black flies out. Betty painted it white to protect the Birch frame and to tie into the colour scheme.

Time for a small deck at the rear entrance to the shed. We covered it, the stairs and rear step into the house with composite as the sun and sea air is hard on pressure treated lumber. It provides a shady spot to sit in late afternoon with a view of the bay and is Carla πŸ• approved.
