Fresh out of the shop and delivered to its new home! This custom live-edge coffee table was handcrafted from a single, solid piece of Canadian (Ontario) maple.

Working on custom client commissions is always rewarding, especially when they choose a piece of wood with this much natural character. We embraced the cracks - stabilizing them with black walnut bow ties and highlighted all the natural details that make our handmade furniture truly one-of-a-kind.

Holy moly do we ever have a lot to be thankful for… this past weekend at the Fall Makers Market was one for the books. Perfect weather. Smiling faces… Light and Lens Product Photography captured the vibe perfectly for you to see 😍

Bicycle Pizza + Picnic filled our bellies with THE most delicious food. Their beepers were buzzing across the farm as folks orders came up, the most joyous noise.

Coast Coffee Roasters spoiled our VIP guests and made sure everyone was caffeinated and had warm drinks to enjoy.

✨ The Grand Finale of the Fall Makers Market ✨
As we look ahead to the future of our farm, shop, and family, we’ve made a big decision: Next year, we are retiring the multi-vendor Fall Makers Market to focus on expanding our own seasonal offerings, curated workshops, and keeping our small team healthy.

That means this upcoming Saturday is officially last call for the Fall Makers Market tradition! DON’T MISS IT - tomorrow is going to be the best yet.

We are going all out to make this final market the most beautiful celebration ever. Come wander the 14 (plus us!) incredible local vendor booths, pick your perfect pumpkins, stay for lunch and help us close this beautiful chapter with a bang.

We’ve even cooked up some seasonal offerings and are launching our farm “Pantry Collection” - farm grown ingredients (or organically sourced when necessary): elderberry syrup, fire c***r, pumpkin spice syrup, fire salt and farm grown rosemary and lemongrass! Future provisions will change with the seasons.

These beautiful images by the legendary Kristen of Bobby Dazzler Photography (Kristen | Surf Coast Film Photographer) came from what was meant to be a family shoot — but naturally, it somehow found its way into the pottery studio.

The golden light was pouring through the big window - the studio was its usual happy mess, and the girls were doing what they do best: making themselves at home in the middle of everything.

There’s something about a well-loved creative space that invites the right kind of chaos. Clay on the table. Little hands where they probably shouldn’t be. Half-finished pieces, tools everywhere, the space itself still incomplete on route to becoming the studio I dream it to be…

Somewhere in the middle of that beautiful mess, I realized Kristen was capturing something bigger too — the next generation growing up right alongside all of this.

The girls watching, learning, making, and slowly becoming part of the work that has shaped our family.

Maybe they’ll carry it forward, maybe they’ll forge something entirely their own. Either way, I love that these photographs will hold a little piece of this chapter for them.

Kristen somehow caught all of it — the light, the mess, the movement, and the very real joy underneath it.

I think these might be some of my favourite photographs ever had taken 🤍

There’s something pretty special about a flower grown just down the road…

It carries the season with it — the weather, the soil, the hands that grew it, and that little window of time when it was meant to bloom.

For us, local flowers aren’t just about beautiful bouquets. They’re about connection. They’re about choosing something grown close to home, celebrating what’s in season, and slowing down enough to really notice it.

And that’s what makes our flower workshops so joyful. We get to bring people into the field, walk among the blooms, learn how to harvest them thoughtfully, fill our buckets, and then create something beautiful to take home.

There’s always laughter, a lot of colour, and those quiet moments where everyone seems to forget about everything else for a while.

This Canadian Flower Week, we’re celebrating the growers, the flowers, and the people who choose local.

Thank you for making room for Canadian-grown flowers in your homes, your celebrations, and your everyday life. We’re so grateful to grow them for you.

Not everyone brings their Miller + Co Peppermill camping… but we’re fancy like that.

Somehow, in between boat rides, watching the most incredible whales, soaking up every bit of West Coast magic, and being lucky enough to catch fresh fish for our freezer, we even managed to sneak some epic mealtimes on the beach.

36 hours, a whole lot of ocean, fishing, full hearts — and absolutely no regrets about bringing the good gear.

…this Peppermill has actually travelled with us coast to coast and many camping trips *thats* how we know it’s crafted to last.

We can’t wait to see you soon. The store finally looks… like a store. Last fall we did a big push to renovate the shipping container to open it as best we could.

Now? It’s the most cozy, relaxed, handmade, high quality, lovely shopping experience…

We’re in good company filling the shelves with incredible Canadian made Atelier Tréma, Jeremy Koreski and ForestForDinner and we’re not done yet…

You can shop in person Thursday/Fridays 11-5 and Saturdays 10-2 (or always happy to open by appointment outside these regular hours)

Want to shop from far away? Stay tuned… our product photographer is on maternity leave and we’ll be holding a huge website drop when we returns in September/October.

📢 Last call for peonies!!

The season is drawing to a close, and this Saturday at Hank’s Bakery will be our final Peony Pop-up of the year.

These blooms wait all year for their brief moment, then disappear almost as quickly as they arrive. If you’ve been meaning to bring some home, this is your sign. We’ll have some straight peony bloom bunches and limited mixed bouquets.

Saturday, June 20th 8am until noon or sold out. Come early—the last peonies of the season never stay long…

The farm taught me seasons.
Motherhood taught me patience and purpose.
Pottery is teaching me rhythm.

This new chapter as a production potter is about more than making ceramics—it’s about participating in a local economy of care. Small-scale manufacturing reconnects people to the things they use every day and to the hands that make them.

In a world of mass production, I believe there is power in making locally, intentionally, and sustainably.

The jigger-jolly you see me using here has been a huge design process and learning curve. While some see machinery as the opposite of handmade, I see it as an extension of the maker’s hands—a tool that allows for greater consistency and efficiency while still requiring skill, judgment, and craftsmanship at every stage.

For production potters, it’s also an important step toward sustainability in the studio. Repetitive wheel throwing can take a significant toll on the body over time (adding in the physical demands of the farm and lifting small humans around), and the jigger-jolly helps reduce that physical strain, making it possible to continue making for years to come. It supports the longevity of both the craft and the craftsperson.

To me, this is what thoughtful micro-manufacturing looks like: using appropriate tools to create high-quality, locally made goods without sacrificing the human connection at the heart of the work.

…and yes I’m still and always learning 🫶🏻
