Miller + Co. Wood Studio

These beautiful images by the legendary Kristen of Bobby Dazzler Photography (Kristen | Surf Coast Film Photographer) came from what was meant to be a family shoot — but naturally, it somehow found its way into the pottery studio.

The golden light was pouring through the big window - the studio was its usual happy mess, and the girls were doing what they do best: making themselves at home in the middle of everything.

There’s something about a well-loved creative space that invites the right kind of chaos. Clay on the table. Little hands where they probably shouldn’t be. Half-finished pieces, tools everywhere, the space itself still incomplete on route to becoming the studio I dream it to be…

Somewhere in the middle of that beautiful mess, I realized Kristen was capturing something bigger too — the next generation growing up right alongside all of this.

The girls watching, learning, making, and slowly becoming part of the work that has shaped our family.

Maybe they’ll carry it forward, maybe they’ll forge something entirely their own. Either way, I love that these photographs will hold a little piece of this chapter for them.

Kristen somehow caught all of it — the light, the mess, the movement, and the very real joy underneath it.

I think these might be some of my favourite photographs ever had taken 🤍

We can’t wait to see you soon. The store finally looks… like a store. Last fall we did a big push to renovate the shipping container to open it as best we could.

Now? It’s the most cozy, relaxed, handmade, high quality, lovely shopping experience…

We’re in good company filling the shelves with incredible Canadian made Atelier Tréma, Jeremy Koreski and ForestForDinner and we’re not done yet…

You can shop in person Thursday/Fridays 11-5 and Saturdays 10-2 (or always happy to open by appointment outside these regular hours)

📢 Last call for peonies!!

The season is drawing to a close, and this Saturday at Hank’s Bakery will be our final Peony Pop-up of the year.

These blooms wait all year for their brief moment, then disappear almost as quickly as they arrive. If you’ve been meaning to bring some home, this is your sign. We’ll have some straight peony bloom bunches and limited mixed bouquets.

Saturday, June 20th 8am until noon or sold out. Come early—the last peonies of the season never stay long…

We are in the heart of peony season ✨ Peony season always feels a little magical around here.

For a few short weeks, the fields open up into oversized blooms, heavy fragrance, and soft evening light — the kind of season that reminds you how quickly beautiful things pass.

These flowers are grown slowly, by hand, here on our family farm on Vancouver Island, and every year watching them bloom never gets old.

You can find our blooms in our farmstand fridge or even better… visit Jen Saturdays 830am - noon (or sold out) while these beauties are in season.
