OXALINO™ Waterfall Coat Rack
The Waterfall Coat Rack is part of the continuing evolution of OXALINO™, Hamilton Holmes’ ongoing exploration of oxidized line, movement, and hand-shaped furniture. Designed as a functional coat rack with a more organic, sculptural presence, the piece uses curved, tapered arms, a ribbed lower body, and three shaped feet to create a continuous sense of flow from top to bottom.
The painted motif follows that same movement. Areas of natural white oak remain visible at the tips of the arms before the oxidized lines travel inward and downward through the piece, re-emerging toward the base and feet.
Built in solid white oak, Waterfall combines hand shaping with traditional joinery. OXALINO™ represents the highest standard of production from the Hamilton Holmes studio, bringing together demanding woodworking with a highly considered, hand-applied finish.

The central post disappears into a ribbed, tapered lower body that acts as both a visual transition and a structural anchor. This shift in mass is an important part of the design, creating a downward pull in the composition while keeping the object grounded.
Waterfall was conceived as a functional object, but the form was developed to move beyond the static quality of a conventional coat rack. The arms curve and taper toward the centre, creating a more fluid silhouette and allowing the piece to shift visually as it is viewed from different angles.
The substantial lower form places weight low in the structure, helping stabilize the coat rack in use. That practical requirement became part of the visual language, with the body opening into three shaped feet that continue the same flowing movement established above.
Seen in full, the relationship between the different elements becomes clearer: the slender post, branching arms, fluted lower body, and splayed feet all work together to create a functional object with a distinctly sculpt
