Some more photos of a recently completed addition for a home in the Algonquin Highlands 🌲
10x posts, plates, and beams give this beast of a frame some heavy duty character. Can’t wait to see the gorgeous view of the lake when this room is completed!

Here’s some shots from the past week and a bit! The first Community Building Project of 2026 was a 12-sided carousel structure with a 53’ clear span located in Symco, Wisconsin in Waupaca County!
We had an amazing crew of volunteers and instructors put forward an incredible effort to complete this complicated structure! 5 sided main posts and a ~6,000lb lantern/cupola. This structure will house an antique carousel on the Union Threshermens grounds and be a welcomed addition to the annual Thresheree!
Proud to be a member of the and to be apart of these builds. Creating community through craft is what the Guild is all about and this particular build embodied all of that.

Happy Friday ☀️🌲
This week we wrapped up a tidy “little” front entrance framing detail with on a neat project just outside of Gravenhurst!
We also dropped off some decorative trusses, looking forward to seeing this one when it’s all wrapped up!

Some shots after a gorgeous couple days raising on Lake of Bays 🌲
The photos don’t give the real scale of this frame any justice. Sitting roughly 17’x21’ with 10x10 posts, 10x16 plates, and massive 8x roof components, this frame is an absolute beast!
The posts and plates were raised with genie lifts and then the roof system was flown in by a crane truck on a barge the following day. All Douglas Fir Timbers with a custom 2 part stain applied.

Test fit complete ✅
Last week we finished up cutting and fitting the roof system for an upcoming project. This one has some intricate joinery and some monster hip rafters! 🌲
Stay tuned to our Instagram Story this week as we look to navigate a complex raising! 🚢🏗️
