Manufacturer Focus: Intercon
Back in 1976, Tom and Linda Turpin started selling barstools out of the back of their pickup truck—basically the original “pop-up shop,” just with more horsepower and fewer hashtags!
Fifty years later, Intercon is still family owned and operated, with a collection that has grown well beyond barstools. Today, they design, market, and manufacture beautiful wood dining, bedroom, and home entertainment furniture, helping bring comfort, character, and function into homes.
Their collections come in a wide range of styles, sizes, and finishes. Whether you love modern lines, rustic charm, or simply need a welcoming place for the whole family to gather, there’s plenty to explore.
The dining collection pictured combines rich wood tones, upholstered seating, and a coordinating sideboard for a look that feels both stylish and inviting. Picture family dinners, holiday celebrations, a friendly game of cards—or the homework that somehow always ends up on the dining table!
And when it comes to durability, Intercon has a memorable story to tell: they demonstrated the strength of one of their Classic Oak chairs by having a 4,000-pound elephant stand on it. That’s quite the test! We suggest leaving the elephants out of your dining room, but we certainly appreciate the confidence behind the demonstration.
Here at Border City Furniture, we love helping you find furniture that suits your style and the way you actually live. From choosing a table that fits your space to finding comfortable seating for those longer visits, we’re happy to walk you through the options.
